I might have to spend some time in Sketchup today and design one that encorperates my light pipe, P1 controls, and can house a NUC with power supply. It would have under glow, external plugins for HDMI, audio and Power. Hmmmmmm

Well, it's got a bit of space available, if you can swing it. The sides are almost completely clear, and my fit only had the mini-emulator, joystick and buttons to contend with. (Forgive the messy wiring job - the cables were 'ready made' and came with the emulator. I haven't completed the joystick wiring yet either, as I've got some soldering to do - it's in a 'ready to show' state, but not quite ready to play.)

Damn it Rick!

I do seem to have that effect on people.

>:D

What mini emulator is that?

I believe it is a "Xin Mo", but it doesn't have any identifying marks.

I think Ricardo is using the wrong terminology. It's not an "emulator", it's an "encoder". Eh.

Haha, that made my brain run wild for a minute trying to think of a way to build a Mini PCB that could run MAME and had a basic video out signal.  Something the size of the Kade, boots to MAME, runs off 5v, and has a mini SD card and pins for a VGA or Comp out.

My Wife asked me tonight if my 19-in-1 / 60-in-1 boards would fit. :o I told her they wouldn't fit in this model, but in the next one they will!

With respect to the amazing compliments I've received on the Fight Stick, it's really a pretty simple design - in essence, it's a box with some holes. We're really only talking about a slightly bigger box with some holes.

;D

not that, I meant a 60 in 1 inside a "fightstick" , or basically a giant wooden Jakks but with an iCade board lol.

So, exactly that, then.

:D

Besides, I'm thinking a bit 'bigger' than just a simple ##-in-1. Sure, that's the model, but the execution of the flagship product may be so much sweeter.

It's exactly the same one that's on my cab. Sorry, it's a bit crooked, I'm new, I used the CAD from my Flynn's files cause I'm lazy.

Wait, I just looked at the price list. There's no prices for bartop kits.

This is true, but they are there.

My new CNC shop is currently setting up to handle my designs, and has to provide me with quotes on how much it's going to cost me going forward. (I have to provide them every... single... part... in a multi-layered DXF file now, which means working with every part to create the new format. Ugh. So much work.) As such, I cannot provide pricing at this time, but I am optimistic it will be in the ballpark with my original pricing.

If not... ...then, the creation of bartops will be pushed out to Q1/2 of 2015. I hope this is not the case.

That is 100% Canadian dollar, my friend. And if you look around, I believe I beat the prices of most of my competition for parts, even when at par!

Why, oh why, does nobody want my money? Here's a direct reply to my request for more information from the latest local CNC Shop:

Probably because they see you as small potatoes. If you put in an order for 1000 cabs at a time, they'd be happy to take your money.

I had a similar problem with finding someone local to cnc my side panels and CP top on my FLYNNS build. It was incredible. I finally found some guy who had access to one who works with a company out of town. So I paid a bit of a middle man price. But oh well.

I seriously just want my own. I wish I had the space.

Imagine if there was a place that you paid a membership to that gave you access to CNC's, 3D Printers, engravers, laser cutters, embroidery machines, etc and they had some basic staff that were trained on them. Hmmm

Yeah... But not in Alberta.

Google "hacker space" or "maker space". They are everywhere and exactly what you are describing. I did a quick search and found one in Calgary.

There's like three or four Makerspaces in my area - and none of them have a CNC bigger than a desktop unit. Gotta love it.

I don't understand why any of them don't make building a larger one a priority? Just a few stepper motors and a rail system.

How hard can it be??
