Cant wait to see these all built Rick.

Can you wait ... another couple of hours?

Seriously, I've just got outside (after trying to rid my attic of squirrels, to no avail) and finished calibrating the router to trim 1/16" x 1/4" off each ridge, and it now fits PERFECTLY. I'm going back outside in a couple of minutes, after a quick break - mostly to post this.

Leaning towards doing a Fix It Felix.

DOO EET! After a nice, quick wheel-n-deal, I now have 10 sheets of 5/8" MDF sitting in my CNC guys' shop, ready for new cabinets!

So I guess all issues with the CNC guys have been sorted out now? It should be a simple order process now?

It looks like we're in the home stretch. I want to get these assembled, pics taken, and then I'll be working with "The Boss" (my Wife) to come up with a good game plan to go forward. She's in Quality (that's what she said!) and I'm definitely going to talk to her about 'best processes', if you know what I mean.

;)

On an even more serious note, I was talking with one of the business partners at my CNC guy's shop, and got to discussing building your own CNC. I sent my guy a bunch of videos and background information and told him about how my Wife and I had considered renting some industrial space, building up a handful of CNC machines, and starting up our own business... I then made a comment saying, "Unfortunately, the time on that idea ran out, and we both have since found employment... ...but if your company wanted to invest in me and my idea, I'd certainly be open to discussing it!"

...and so an hour later, my CNC guy replied, and wants to talk about the idea in the new year. Specifically, he said, "I would be interested in discussing this with you in the new year (December is booked solid). Reach out in early January and perhaps we can sit down to discuss what you have in mind."

So I'm all like, WHAT JUST HAPPENED???

:o

We'll see...

He's gonna ask you to wire him $3,000 in "document fees" from Western Union.  That's what is going to happen.

Anywho, joking aside, here's what my blood, sweat and tears looks like assembled. And photographed with Haruman's potato:

Sure, I'm up to my neck in pre Black Friday goodness, but not too busy to post today's news...

The tabs were a bit finicky, so that's the reason for the clamps.

I think it's been asked before but are you providing templates for designing sideart and cp art?

Thanks, man! Yes, I will absolutely be providing templates for both the side and control panel artwork. I've got them configured 1:1 in Photoshop, which I believe is the "go to" program of choice.

I've since managed to do the edge routing for the t-molding, and hope to make a big splash with pictures as soon as work slows down. I'm off on Sunday (finally!) so I'm going to make a big push towards getting in touch with all of the current buyers, and to get some good looking pictures!!!

Thanks again, everyone, for your support!

Hey, any news on a 2 player version? I think the Cubic would work out with 2 players since the sides are not blocked (like the Galaxy). I want to buy a 2 player cubic and I'm in Toronto, I'm willing to buy ASAP.

Thanks.

I'll focus on that for the upcoming order, and make the two player available for the Cubic and Titan models. I hope to place the next order in the next week or so. Cool?

Hi Rick. Thanks for the reply.
Do you have a rough estimate of when I would be able to pickup a 2 player cubic? I'm just trying to figure out if I want to wait for your next order or take my cad to the CNC shop that I know(they charge more than you but I don't want to wait too much)

Thanks.

Lookin' Good Rick, Lookin' Good!!!!
Can't wait to see more examples.

Based on the models, having them infront of you, do you think 2 player would work well ?
A 2 player, 6 button per side layout for example.

Let me get a quote from the shop, and I'll be in a better position to let you know. I'm guessing 5-7 business days from date of order, as they've noted our recent 'challenges' have now been ironed out. In the interim, I'm working on the new panels as we speak, and hope to have a rendered pic up shortly!

I have great news!

I have completed all of the finish work and hope to have all of the cabinet packed and shipping this weekend! I will be contacting everybody with information over the next couple of days to confirm payment and shipping arrangements.

If you've committed to purchasing one of the current builds, if it's not too much trouble, please reach out to me via email to let me know. It would help out so I won't have to search out our previous conversations.

Thanks!

When you get the two player ones setup let me know.. I would love to get one of these built (maybe one or two more in the future for my kitchen and a couple for the bar).. I was unable to PM you (possibly too few posts.. Just made this account so I can hopefully grab one of these from you).. I am hoping to have one by mid january as I have a week off and could use a project to keep me busy..

Let me know.. Thanks and I may forget about this site so if you can email me when you are placing orders for the 2 player setup let me know..

So, an update!

These are three of the four cabinets presently sitting in my living room, ready to go out TODAY! Each box seam has been triple-taped, the box voids have been filled with craft paper, and every part has been plastic-wrapped for their protection.

Once my local postal outlet opens up, these will be shipping out!

What's in them, you ask? One of these...

...one of these...

...and two of these...

Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, one customer had to back out of his order. So, if anyone would like my final Contender cabinet, I do have ONE LEFT! Get it now, and have it delivered before Christmas!

:)

So, it's finally happened. All of the arcade cabinets I have built (EXCEPT ONE - ORDER NOW FOR CHRISTMAS DELIVERY!) have been delivered to Canada Post, and are on their way to their new homes.

On the "IKEA" note, have you been reading my mind? (Yes, I realize Haruman reads my threads, but no, I'm happy to share.) I've been looking into overseas suppliers of these babies...

No no. Just a little bit of needling between friends. I've taken more than my fair share of ideas from Haruman's great builds. He's set the bar pretty high. I hope to someday raise it.

It's made to install after the assembly.

Flex it ;)

The man's got it right. With a 1/4" depth on each side, the plexi should just pop right in. It should be pretty simple, considering the 20" expanse across the marquee and monitor openings.

Woohoo!  Got mine today, on a Sunday no less... didn't know Canada Post delivered on Sundays.

Anyone anyone hesitating to get this, I wouldn't.  Quality is great, and since this was only the first run I'm sure it will only be getting better.  Now I just need to source some more parts before I put this thing in action.

I'll create a build thread when I'm ready.
