Any updates?

Very small.

My CNC guy is still working with his CAM software provider on the problem, but has offered to rebuild the design parts that are affected by the bug manually - and at no cost - and have one of my designs ready for Friday, my first day off.

I've just started a new job, after a years' hiatus from the working world, and I'm only off today and Friday. So, I hope to have some great pictures up at that time!

However, at 0:16 in this video, that will be the response of the audience when we see wood....

Until then, its...0:8 t0 0:15, instead of bags its posts....

and then it's 0:19 to the end of video, if we see one more sketchup drawing w/o wood....

By the way, Unicorns are fictional characters, could this thread be fictional....

Well, FYI, the Unicorns be like.....

Good news. The parts are ready, and I can pick them up any time!!! Here's the bad news. I'm working an afternoon/evening shift today (12-930, ack) and the same tomorrow, so I won't be able to pick them up until Friday.

I'm off on Friday, so I will have a comprehensive and exhaustive post then, but I have also asked the CNC guy if he's able to snap some pics for me... If I get them this afternoon, look for a post from me tonight after I get home! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Fine. Then I guess you don't want to see more of these...

;)

* Yay Rick!

HA! Saw that! Ok, ok. Here you go. These are the pics from the potato camera at my CNC guy's place. Everything is skidded and ready to go. Looks like I'm going to need a bigger car. (I drive a Suzuki Swift, sooooo ... yeah.)

The Skid, top down:

The rear top piece, showing the venting:

The common monitor mount, including both sets of mounting holes:

The Contender's control panel:

The Contender's control panel, in a closer detail:

So, there's a bit of cleanup to do on the pieces - giving them all the once-over with some fine sandpaper and dusting them up, but there you go. We're ... almost ... there! (I'll forgo the "wood" jokes for the time being, and save you all from me posting "The O Face" gif.

:D

p.s. Haruman, TTT, if you please!!!

Excited to see these come together.
Cant wait to see them in person.

Perhaps I need to ask the wife for one for my B-day (Dec 21st) ???????

Glad to see it's all coming together Rick!

No kidding about the truck. I actually did pay $4 a sheet extra for the labeling, but I see that as a definite positive, since I had so many pieces at the end of a six sheet run!

Let the bartop wars begin!  :applaud:

LOL. Those started a long time ago, and I figure I've lost more than my fair share of battles. I've kicked myself for coming out of the gate so early with my designs, because nobody was really focused on making bartops inspired by the originals (en masse, anyway) until after I came out with mine.

Ah well. Next time, I won't be so quick to throw out my new ideas before I have "prototype in hand".

;)

Great news!!!

Thanks for the support! (The cheque's in the mail!)

;)

Good for you Rick, I am glad things are coming together.

Seriously, thank you. After both my Wife and I were let go a year ago, and having so much difficulty finding jobs recently, I hope that this will be a small bit of positive "something" that can help out, even just a little.

Woohoo! Now, when these shipping?  (Or available for pickup)

I'm off on Friday and Saturday, and will be focused on getting things checked for quality (fit and finish) at that point. This also means a trip out to Brampton (Uline, bitches! Hey Haruman, I can drive to mine!  >:D) to buy me some boxes and the local Dollarama for extra packing material.

If I'm really, really lucky, everything that I have that is "spoken for" (which, actually is everything!) will be picked up or shipped out the door before the end of the weekend.

Awesome! Now to wait until January to put my order in.

No worries, sir! I'm at your service, and only hope that the prototypes live up to the images I have in my head!

Excited to see these come together. Can't wait to see them in person. Perhaps I need to ask the wife for one for my B-day (Dec 21st)? Glad to see it's all coming together Rick! Make sure you share this info on CGCC!

LOL. No worries! My next stop is the CGCC for a bit of a "teaser post". I'm sure that it's going to drum up some serious business over the coming couple of weeks, what with Christmas and all.

And to everybody here - I can not impart enough how much I appreciate your support. The inspiration of the custom builders, of Haruman, macattack and all of the others who provide products to the arcade enthusiast community as a whole, and the people who simply play. Without these people, there would be no community, and I wouldn't be so lucky as to be doing what I am doing.

Thank you all, so very, very much.

I do wish I had a Uline closer.  Paying $20+ for shipping every time I need 10 more boxes sucks.

LOL. I may be a cade snob, but I don't count MVS/NeoGeo as being a 'classic cabinet design'. I was really talking the Midway and Nintendo. (So much so, that I needed to Google what the f "MVS" stood for.)

Nintendo was a customer request.  I had no plans to do one, really.  Glad I did, though.  It's now just behind the widescreen weecade as a the top-seller.

I know. I guess I'm an old codger that way. I just always saw those cabinets as being an "oh look, a 4-in-1 system. Somebody couldn't afford the space for four real arcade games?"

The idea of bartop units that borrow from the classics is a great idea.
I can see why people are so excited!
As I said before I can't wait to see pics of the Nintendo inspired model all put together.
