THE ARCADE SHOP at GAMEROOM DESIGNS - Arcade Systems, Kits, Parts & Accessories
eisbar:
I have a couple questions:
- If I use the slot to hold plexi or glass, does it essentially make it impossible to replace in the future (it appears it would be captured between the sides when the cab is glued together)?
- I probably missed this on an earlier post, so I apologize if you've answered this already - what size/aspect monitor is ideally suited for this cabinet? 17" 5:4? 19" 5:4? 20" 4:3?
- Does shipping scale down at all if more than one kit is ordered at the same time?
I'm looking forward to these being order-able. Having an option for these in Canada is fantastic, not just because your designs look great, but because shipping is so reasonable (and no "brokerage fees" or other nonsense to deal with).

I've designed the bartops with the routing on the sides. The top and bottom won't be slotted. You'll be able to 'press' or 'pull' them out of the side slots with ease. I designed them this way, because if they were slotted along the horizontal plane, the plexi could be too stiff, and crack if you attempted removal.

I designed them to work with a 19" 4:3 LCD I have here, so a widescreen 19" or standard 17" should also fit well. With either, I still recommend bezel art or painting the plexi.

I would assume it would. I'm not 'upselling' on the shipping (i.e. not making money on the charges) and I believe Canada Post should cut a break on the shipping, as long as the packages don't go over their single-package maximum of 67lbs.

Thanks! I'm working to bring these to you soon! (At the very least, my post responses are prompt!)

Just wait. I'll have wood sooner than you think.

Check with Fedex for shipping as well. I used to ship stuff all over Canada and US although they were smaller packages, but Fedex had the best prices and most reliable service, not to mention you can easily print the way bills online and they will give you free clear envelops to include the waybill on the package (and you just call them to schedule pickup - if you do it frequently and you get a good pickup guy, you can just call him direct and skip the 800 number)
Not that you're shipping to the US, but they also would wave brokerage fees going to the US if the order was under $200 (although this may be different for other types of products - we were shipping granola bars).
