Best software for recording desktop?
(1/2) > >>
BadMouth:
Finally biting the bullet and switching my driving cab over to Win7.
While I'm reinstalling all the emulators on a fresh windows install,
I thought I'd record the process and hopefully find time to organize it into a series of video tutorials someday.

Anyone have a recommended software for doing this, free or otherwise?

Camtasia Studios does a pretty good job -- the offer a 30 day trial for free that might be long enough for you to make these with ! ( http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasia/ )

I've been recently playing with bandicam to record videos of MKKE.  I didn't play with desktop recording extensively, but if it can record video of a game that takes up 100% resources it should work fine.

I figured I'd add Fraps to this list as well.  You can capture short (watermarked) video clips with the free version, or you can spring for the paid version for a chunk of change ($37 USD).  All things considered, it's a pretty good piece of software and probably worth the purchase if you plan on making fairly frequent recordings.
