Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I need an opinion: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1jqnv
How does that look for a MAME PC? I want something that's good for all the old games, as well as the new ones (I'd LOVE to be able to play Blitz on this thing, though from what I've heard it's a difficult process to get those 3D games to run on even top of the line machines). So, what do y'all think of this build? Will it work well for MAME? Also, I was thinking of getting an arcade VGA card instead of the card I've got selected...how would that affect performance

I have a core 2 duo 3.0Ghz, it would not run Blitz as It was too choppy. I ditched the idea of running Blitz on it as well as Gauntlet Legends... that is until I can get something fancy enough to run them.

For Blitz, go into the service menu and disable Interlaced Video.
That and using the 64-bit version of MAME makes a pretty big difference on that particular game.

Are you talking about the MAME service menu, or the Blitz service menu?

Blitz service menu.

EDIT:  and 2.83Ghz probably isn't going to cut it.  The 3.0Ghz just might if it has a 64-bit OS & there aren't any other processes running in the background.  With a little overclock, I'm pretty sure it could.
