| Understated Cocktail Cab? |

OK all, here's the situation: used to be on these boards quite a bit. Moved into a new, very open house (not a single wall on the first floor, for example), and the wife was no longer on board with having all of this enormous arcade stuff out in the open where you can see it from everywhere. After years of going without, though, I'm once again getting a hankering to have a cab again. With that in mind, has anyone ever created or even just seen an arcade cab that is designed to NOT look like an arcade machine? I don't mean that you stick the monitor in a hutch and the controls in a drawer, I mean a standalone piece of furniture that essentially looks like a table or a sculpture until you need it to be an arcade machine. Something with as small a footprint as possible, as discrete as possible. Thinking a cocktail-style cab would most easily lend itself to this, but I'm open to anything. Could really use some inspiration, would love to see what others have come up with. Thanks! |

Surface Tension Tom G's A Coffee Table Both are good examples, or you could hide the stuff inside a lifesize R2D2 |

I'm partial to my Island Cocktail. See link in .sig below... edit: controls aren't hidden, but it also doesn't look like a traditional cocktail at all. |

I sure have seen the "Barrel of Kong" pop up a lot lately. ...it never fails to impress... |
