I have a cheap old, USB flight/fight stick which I use for my Pi emulator. Its not great in terms of feel so I bought some Sanwa buttons and a Sanwa stick to swap out the cheap stuff.
I assumed it was just a wire up needed but I cant get it working at all, the buttons are fine but the stick will not work properly. Its a SANWA JLF-TP-8YT with a 5 pin connector, the board I was trying to connect it to seems to be for another type where it uses 2 wires/pins for each switch on the old joystick. I dismantled it and wired all the grounds together and connected what was UDRL to the correct UDRL wires from the provided SANWA wire. I could really only get either up or down to work then lots of the time it was just constantly scrolling or launching Kodi from Recalbox for some reason.
Was I wrong in assuming it could just be wired up and work?
I have ordered a new EG STARTS Zero Delay USB Encoder which has the 5 pin on it. Again I assume this will just work, this is all new to me.
