| External power button for acer aspire one |
| (1/1) |
| Doltz:
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum, have been lurking for a while. I'm going to be building a small bartop, probably modelled after the nanocade from Rasmus Sørensen. I have an acer aspire one zg5 that I have torn apart, but I realized that I have no way to turn it on. I'm wondering how I can turn it on using a switch or possibly one of the spare ultimarc goldleaf button I have. The only other thing I could see found would be a door or drawer that I could use to access the bottom half of the computer. Thanks! Alex |

Just take the wires from the on\off switch on the laptop case and run them to a button (same as you would wire any other button - one wire to the ground connection and one to the NO connection ) then when the button is pressed it should turn on the system just like using the original push button did. |

Problem is, the power button on the AAO is a daughter board mounted microswitch. The original power button just pressed on it. I'm wondering if It just needs to be a drawer. |

Figure out which contacts close on the microswitch and scab a couple of super thin wires on those solder pads with a fine solder iron. |
