| IPAC4 not working via ps2 to usb? |

I'm having problems hooking up an old IPAC4 thru a ps2-to-usb into my usb port of my new computer. Windows doesn't recognize the "usb" device. I connected a Microsoft branded keyboard into the ps2-to-usb into the usb port of the new computer and it recognizes the keyboard as MS natural usb keyboard. Is it not working because my old IPAC4 is not usb compatible? Is there such a thing. I bought the IPAC4 used, and the person got it from 2003-2004 time, but it could be older. What alternatives are there for making the IPAC4 connect to a usb only computer? TIA EDIT: IPAC4 works fine on my old computer thru ps2 connection without any adapter. |

Will something like this work for IPAC4 controls? This says I need a converter as opposed to an adapter for the ps2 to usb http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/11298/subcatid/0/id/124184 |

The Ultimarc devices aren't designed for use with active PS2 to USB converters (Andy has reiterated this several times). They actually have USB capability built in. You just need the (somewhat hard to find outside of Ultimarc) cable. You may be able to use a passive adapter, but the pinouts are not standardized so YMMV depending on where you got the adapter from. |

All the information you need to change I-PAC connection from PS/2 to USB is contained on this page: http://www.ultimarc.com/ipacusb.html |
