I'm a fan of nostalgia and CRT's in general but my problem with TV's are they were never really designed for cabs.  So can you use it?  Sure.  Is it the way I would go?  Maybe not, depending if I had money for an LCD.

How big is the CRT?  Your control panel at 33" inches isn't huge but it would be big for only 2 players.

33" is a bit on the large size, particularly for a 2 player machine. My 4 player Gauntlet cabinet has a narrower panel than that.

I wouldn't go larger than 27" for a standard cabinet.

CRT monitors can be real beasts, especially if you are looking at the later generation HD models.  I have a 27" sony trinitron that weighs in at over 100lbs.  The 32" version of that is going to give the Hulk pause.  A larger tv is going to grow your cabinet depth substantially also...
