I messed up.....Trackball issue - Need axis rotate 90 degrees
CoryBee:
Like title says
When I routed out the space for the trackball on one of the builds I had the trackball rotated incorrectly. I searched all around the forums and found similar posts but they were not the same trackball and it is a PS\2 one and I don't think I can just switch wires up...or can I?
It is one of these
For clarification, when I move left and right the mouse moves up and down, etc.
I know of the issue of rotating it will be a different spin, the games being played with it wont really matter though so now worries.
I guess what I am asking is a software way of rotating the axis, I can't seem to do it in Mame32p or anywhere else.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, Cory.
At first, I thought you were trying to fix a Marble Madness trackball. (they were mounted 45 degrees turned IIRC)
To fix the 90 degree problem you describe, what's keeping you from re-mounting it in the correct orientation?
I thought those Sparkfun/Paradise TB mount holes were in a square layout. :dunno

Yea sorry, 90 is what I meant.
They are almost a perfect square but the clips that hold it together on the sides are a smidgen to big when rotated. The space I routed is too small when turned to the side. I would have to route out more space, and art, wring, tmolding etc is all in place.
PL1:
Is it close enough to where you can pull the TB and grind down the clips?
Degenatrons mounted one of these without a top half here, so you might be able to get away with just grinding the clip (by the screwdriver tip), even if the the two halves don't stay together when you remove the mounting screws.

EDIT: Updated KADE forum URL.
CoryBee:
The way I have it mounted it will have to have the clips holding the thing together.
Are there no software solutions boss man?
Thanks for the effort as always PL1
