| If you had a bunch of pink neon squiggles would you use them in your gameroom? |

First, let's call it neon purple. At least you can reclaim a little dignity that way. I say go for it. Purple is the neon color of choice for pimps. No question about it, you need to make a pimp room now. This will be all the lighting you need above your purple shag carpet and zebra stripe, heart shaped bed. Either that, or maybe you can theme the room around purple things that don't suck. Call it the purple room. I'm thinking painting a mural of Skeletor and the Joker beating the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of Grimace and Barney, while King Friday and Adrian Peterson are apathetically watching on and smoking a big bowl of purple haze. Then have purple Rain playing in the background and serve Purplesaurus Rex Kool-aid. I can guarantee your friends minds will all be blown. |

"It's not pink, it's salmon!" I suppose it depends on the overall scheme of your gameroom. If it's classy with a beautifully stained wooden bar and a great atmosphere, then no. If your gameroom is an unfinished corner of your basement, then yes. If you have a beat up pool table in there, a dartboard with holes in the wall all around it, and 1/2 price mistint paint, then yes. If you are making an arcade right out of the 80's, definitely. In fact throw up a poster of Max Headroom while you're at it. |

It's not purple. Definitely pink and light pink at that. I thought about calling it Pinky's Arcade and making everything pink, but decided that I didn't want a glowing pink room. Maybe I'll experiment with coats of transparent blue paint. If I can get it to the color of a blacklight, that would be cool. I have 6 or 7 pieces and will probably only use two of them, so if a few get messed up it doesn't matter. I have no use for them otherwise and haven't been able to give them away. |

The bar itself is pretty nice, but it's in an unfinished basement with exposed rafters, painted block walls and floor. I threw out the beat up pool table last year. This isn't going to be a nice "dream gameroom". It's more like ......hey I got enough stuff laying around to make a pseudo realistic arcade atmosphere. The big $$ purchase was a 6x6ft square of this carpet for the center. I didn't realize the space ships were bowling pins until after I ordered it, lol. Oh well, it will still look right. I plan to put some old PC speakers and mp3 player in the rafters playing the arcade ambience tracks. ....off to look for a popcorn scented candle. |
