Led Viewing Angle?
Brian74:
Thanks for the replies guys. Have the leftover il translucent centers from my other cab. Thought I would throw some single color leds in them.

PL1:
To determine the correct LED to use, measure the width of the button surface you want illuminated and the distance (button depresed) to the top of the LED.
Draw the viewing angle of the LED, mark the distance on both legs, and measure the distance between marks.
If the distance between marks is shorter than the illuminated surface diameter, it will cause a "hot spot".

The so called "straw hat" LED's have a wider angle, and might be better suited for this.

ive also carefully filed the tops flat on standard led's to make them wider angle.
