XArcade Dual Joystick Pedestal Plans
« on: April 18, 2013, 12:59:34 pm »
I'm looking for some pedestal plans to accommodate the x arcade dual joystick. I tried googling it but I'm coming up empty. I want to recess the dual joystick in the pedestal then I'm going to mount a flat screen on the wall. Any plans would be great!

Drill a hole in the middle of this and run a carriage bolt through your X-Arcade:

I don't know.  The build quality of that stool might be a little overkill for an X-arcade.

Personally,  I think the x-arcade needs to be "de-boxed", retaining the CP part and mounting that on the cabinet.  That's what I did using a variation of these plans:

http://www.lightscamerahome.com/lcd_mame_cabinet_1.html

I revised the plans to make the cab even slimmer.  I suppose if you intend to remove the x-arcade later then a typical extension type cab would work, but to me it looks wonky.  By removing the box part you achieve a more integrated look.  If you go the extra mile to cover the cp with new art, it looks even better. :)

That looks great. What plans did you ultimately go with?

They have a video how they assemble the cabinet which materials they use etc.

I found the measurements of the cabinet on ebay , & from there i just attempt to make it the same as a Arcadextension 27 inch cabinet
Because i wanted to buy one but they dont send overseas itll cost much with the weight.

glad i made it myself so i can adjust it to my height i made it 184 cm long

never thought i made a arcade cabinet, now im just  starting to laminate it

Do you still have the measurement/plans you used?  They don't sell these on eBay anymore.

Ok im planning to put in a Bang & Olufsen instead of the Ben Q LCD i put in ,
luckily the TV just fits right in height , 3 parts of the Top part are not needed only need to adjust 1 part in height
and probably just spray paint the bezel plexiglas to cover the space around the tv.

another look from the side , so the space around the tv is well covered, im basically done with it.

only behind the top part i need to fit a piece of wood to replace the large part that was there before i used it to cover it with the LCD in it.
will post some stuff again when i place it over at my place
