Man... I was going through the current list trying to update it with more recent sequels and most of them didn't get a PC release. I fear that racing games are starting to fade from the PC much like Lightgun games did several years ago.
Racing games haven't really faded in popularity. But yes, there are less on the pc.
Since there aren't really any sim/racing ones like forza or gran turisimo for the pc,
most people just play them on the pc.
i've never owned a wheel or played a force feedback game. i just use a pad for the
pc, or keyboard. i own tons of racing games, mostly sega ones... i think i even have
the sega GT one for xbox and pc.
the pc games usually had better graphics, but then the dreamcast came out, and
the games look better sometimes.
i have sega rally 2 for pc and dreamcast, the pc does have higher resolution.
the last game i had for the pc was sega rally revo, which was way better than
the xbox 360 version, much higher resolutions and frame rates.
i don't play any racing games on the pc anymore, unless its through an emulator.
i only play on consoles. i still have to play sega rally 2006 (japan only) on my ps2
someday.
i will think about getting a wheel at some point, and maybe try out these
force feedback games. i've never liked the sensation in the arcades, which
is probably why i don't miss it in home games.
