List of PC games that support Force-feedback.

<< < (3/6) > >>

Howard_Casto:
Man... I was going through the current list trying to update it with more recent sequels and most of them didn't get a PC release.  I fear that racing games are starting to fade from the PC much like Lightgun games did several years ago.

Fursphere:
It appears from some of the game lists that game-pad rumble support = force feed back.

That really skews the list, doesn't it.

Howard_Casto:
Yes, it does unfortunately.  It's one of those deals where we  just have to try them all.  That is why I said to specify if the game just has rumble support or not.

That being said...if the game supports FF in any fashion (aka not just the new XInput protocol) you can get it work work with a wheel.  It might not be the most realistic effects in the world, but a constant force effect is a constant force effect regardless of what device it plays on.

BadMouth:
The Logitech G27 will shake when it gets the rumble signal, my Logitech MOMO and older blue driving force do nothing.
Maybe we could add an asterisk to ones we know only have rumble?

Howard_Casto:
Yeah, probably a good idea.  We need to make a list of games that are confirmed NOT to have force-feedback as well, but I figured that would be easier once we got this list filled out a little more.

In regards to incompatibility, I've been wondering if headkaze could help with that.  His vjoy program already fakes a joystick, if it could intercept FF signals as well..
There are only around 8 kinds of FF effects that direct input supports.... everything else is just a variant of those, if your device can play an effect or not depends on if it supports that particular effect style.  Half of them are optimized for wheels, the other half for flight sticks.  Rumble effects came after the protocol was designed, so it is usually faked via constant force to a particular motor.  So wheels that don't support rumble playback typically just don't support constant force and/or don't show up as compatible, which is easy to fix, if you have access to that stuff at a lower level.
