Thanks for all the ideas,  unfortunately the art is already off being printed.

A problem I had to overcome was reintroducing structural integrity to the barrel after removing the cutout areas.  Barrels rely on tension to keep them together so I reintroduced it in certain areas with plumbers strapping to get that nice solid tight feel.

It seems you have an opportunity to put something fun in your bunghole. Got any plans for it?

Fantastic Idea!  Are you planning to paint the exposed metal flat black?

If you mean the straps on the outside I'm going to do them hammered black.  Usually I hate that finish but in this case I think it would be a good choice for the look I want
