Uneven Picture
« on: March 19, 2013, 01:05:38 am »
So I have built a cocktail mame system and installed a LG flatscreen CRT but when I power up the system the picture is warped. It runs off on an upward angle top and bottom and warps on the sides. I thought I might have bumped something when installing but have runs test and all works fine. I even got a portable dvd player running of its battery and plugged it into tv and picture was perfect but as soon as I plug RGB back into video card picture is all messed up again. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction as I am thinking it might be a power or setting problem.

Without pictures hard to say.... but as you have now taken a picture tube that normally sits upright and placed it on it's back, it will now see a totaly different magnetic field than what it was aligned in. I am expecting top all to be pushed to the right, bottom to the left. This also depends on what direction the cab is facing as far as North, South etc. Might need a good degauss, might need re-setting of the purity?? Is there signs of discoloration (purity) as well.
Good luck
Rick

the key is it is fine when presented with the type of signal for which it was designed .

check your settings ............
