Your a paranoid control freak who is way too worried about people seeing the wacked out porn you have on your jukebox.

Better?

Much more likely someone selling jukeboxes who doesn't want the customers figuring out that it's a standard windows PC running free software.
Steer clear of selling to anyone who will use it in public if you're in the US.  Spies that check for tax stickers and annual music licensing abound!  8)

naaaa not the cse, and coments like this one are the ones that dont help. its this the PANDR FORUM? no, its this the GENERAL forum? no its not,it sas its the SOFTWARE forum, and users come here for SOFTWARE related help, not for ethics,or something ealse. you really had no idea but rather likes to fabricate an THIS GUY MUST BE DOING ILLEGAL STUFF HYSTORY, rather then helping. but

your attitude suggests it as much as your posting, I can see why people jump to that conclusion.

that and your scenario is barely believable.

yu cant, its a jukebox, everything its inside and locked

No such thing as cant, many moons ago me and a couple of others managed to get the actual pool table out and left it in the carpark (its a joke NOT theft if its still on the property :) ), if youre THAT worried why not keep all your songs on a really cheap touchpad or phone that people can access the songs off from your "friends and family".... or ummm... print a sticker and stick it to the machine to show where you stole/downloaded it from :) .... or errrr.... if theres nothing that youre actually worried about people seeing on there, backup the system up to a portable hard drive and let them get on with it knowing you can just put it back as it was ... or errr finally ummm ahhh .... have a dress code at your parties that doesnt include "large rectangular bits of plastic with buttons on it" / "rolled up rubber mats with buttons on it" allowed.

All the above suggestions will work, unless youre not being completely honest about why you want ctrl, alt + delete disabled, though letting other people access music illegally from a system you provided isnt the best of cover stories  :laugh2:

As hilarious as the thought of this guy showing up at a party carrying a keyboard is, I'll try to offer an alternative.

Rather than disabling ctrl-alt-del, you could instead just disable Task Manager for the user profile running your juke software. If you're really concerned about folks poking around the system, you should probably be running it under a restricted user account anyway. However, expanding upon what Howard was saying, an open usb port on any system is a gaping hole no matter how you look at it. You can lock it down all you want, but a determined, usb keyboard wielding miscreant will find a way in eventually.

That being said, if it were my system, I would add a new user account with no password (no keyboard!) and minimal rights, and run the frontend under this user. Then I would "Remove Task Manager" and "Remove Change Password" for that user. (Microsoft Management Console > Group Policy Object Editor) Then I could simply log the user off and login with my admin account (and a keyboard) for maintenance.

On second thought, if it were my system, I would just use Subsonic server. Best thing I've tried!

problem has been solved, i disable the task manager , that way if someone wants to  get inside, it will be more dificult for them.
i dont say someone will cut the music on the middle of a party to mess with my juke, but theres always a posibility that the day after, some smart kid will try to sneak inside to see how it works, and if they mess with my setup then i will have to work again ,maybe format the pc and start from cratch, it happened to me in the past and since this is the first time i use windows 7 to shell an aplication and that actually looks good and legit, i wouldnt want anyone mess my setup, im not worried about the music, anyone can have that, thats the point of having the usb port so if you like a song or if you win a price, yu'll just hook your usb key and get whatever youll get.
thats why i said this back again:
why to start thinking about fake tales of "this guy wants to do somenthing illegal" or " this guy its a freak" instead lets focus on the help we can provide. cheers to all ,problem solved, case close. bye bye.
