Should I put an older video card in my new PC?

ACK - disregard- it's an AGP card.

I just built a new main computer for the house.  previously it was mainly a server for video sharing, printers plugged into it and shared, etc.  the new one is nicer and I will be using it more as my main desktop pc.  work, cad, sketchup, photo processing, maybe a few older pc games.

it is an intel I3 2100, Asrock mobo, 8 gb ram, ssd, and I'm using the onboard intel video currently.  I have an ATI radeon hd 3850 512mb video card that has to be 7-8 years old laying around.

Is this card better than the intel onboard video?  Any pitfalls to using this older card on a new mobo?

Why don't you check benchmarks at Toms Hardware?

I think the current video card is faster. IMHO

Download Sandra is a benchmark tool and do both tests, with video card and WO.

Ohhh... AGP :S well

I would use the old video card. On board video cards, use system ram for video ram, and the access to that ram is much much slower then a dedicated video card can access it's own ram.

Yeah stick the ATI in there, besides it is better in a case than out.

The Internal is an Intel HD 3/4000?

If so you would probably get the same performance but the option of having a second monitor, especially if you want to play Punchout!.

There are online resources that talk about such things. You're going to get the most and accurate information there.
