Newbie here.  I'm one of the 12 orders since January. This will be my first build. Already have the software side setup, looking forward to the build portion.
Very good call doing the software side first.

Got my kit this weekend and started my build :) Thanks again Haruman! Can't wait to do some cosmetic work.

Few questions:

1.) I notice a lot of people with the widescreen kits having the acrylic covering the monitor with no bezel blocking the slim bezel of the monitor. I would like to include a bezel under my acrylic even if it is thin. What could I use to do this?

2.) What type of paper is suggested to print Marquee art on. (for light to properly show through)

3.) Any suggestions for quality/inexpensive USB speakers, and perhaps a couple grills to cover the speaker holes?

That's it for now. I'm sure I'll have more

1) Construction Paper
2) email stpcore with your art, he'll print exactly what you need
3) really any stereo speaker will work, I used felt on the top of the speaker wood to block light. Costs like $1 at a craft store.

Damn, Rick's chippy. Waiting on his CNC to get finished is giving him blue balls or something.

Nah. Hardly that. Add that I can't walk to the fact that I lost my job and can't claim UI and that could be the source of the snappy retorts. Meh, all the way around.

Made this one for a repeat customer.  It's a nintendo bartop shrunk by 25%.  Take a look at the original and reduced sides:

Here it is dry fit (and still dusty):

Render I made before CNC:

Haruman,

I'm enjoying the kit so far, Just have to get a nice monitor to set it up with and do the wiring for the buttons.

Malenko, what kind of art do you have available? I was looking for something SF4 themed.I had gotten Haruman's Widescreen model, which measures at: L:18.6" W:23.0" H:21.45", if you need it.

So, with some constructive criticism from Malenko (who assembled a couple of the first versions for me), I have redesigned the basic fightstick.

Top no longer is encased by the sides:

Top is also now 3/4" thick for more color choices with T-molding:

Moved the button & Neutrik hole on the back to get them out of the way of the two rear buttons on the top panel.

Currently the plan is to make the sides & bottom out of 1/2", but may change that over to 3/4" to match the top...

start and select button need to be on the side. preferably on the right side. and all around 3/4" would be better for single player stick. otherwise looks good.

of course it does. many many people build single sticks like that including myself. don't need to reinvent the wheel.

HOWEVER I don't like the fat/tall look. as short as possible makes it look better. you wanna go for something like this or sell this type of box too. Id buy some for sure :burgerking:

I like the fat/tall look, but I also like the slims. There is one issue with the slims though, and that is that sometimes they arent deep enough to compensate for US sticks. I think a slim version of this stick is a great idea

agreed. They werent terrible though:

after I got the first gen fightsticks, I gave Haruman a lot of feedback on design. I'll be picking up a V2 and seeing if there are any other improvements I can think of. I suggest anyone who buys anything from a vendor here do the same. Feedback is how things get improved.

I know it's not a Bartop, but I would be interested in a pedestal similar to this one.  Have you done anything similar to this that you could quote me?

I haven't done anything quite that size, I would need to mock something up to get an estimate from my cnc guy

Roger that.  If you get a chance to quote it and want to shoot me a PM, that would be cool.

I'll try to work on that next week.

Just picked a batch of 8 of the new fight stick boxes.  6 are paid for, 2 left.  Will get some pictures when I get them slot cut and dry fit over the weekend.

Missing Widescreen Order?
« Reply #1879 on: March 01, 2015, 05:04:11 pm »
Long time listener, first time buyer.  I purchased from your website the Ultimate Widescreen Kit.  Now, I know you're busy and have many orders, but what troubles me is that the order says "complete" and I haven't received not an email response nor a wait time from when it'll be completed.  Does the "complete" order status mean that you've sent it already?  Because this showed up immediately after purchasing and I haven't received a product.

I was thinking that if everything goes well with this order, I'll order more from you to complete them for the rest of my family.  Thank you for your understanding.  Not mad at all here, simple curious to what's happening on your end with these orders.
