What the hell? Your website lists the price, then says "plus shipping and handling". Click on the "plus shipping and handling" and it opens a pop up window that says "all prices include shipping, no extra charges". :lol

I know...  I'm still trying to figure out how to fix that.  The price you see is the price SHIPPED.  I'm a newb when it comes to websites & espcially e-shops, I'm just glad I was able to get it hooked up to PayPal correctly.   :dizzy:

Are you selling the artwork and t-molding, too?  All I see is a plain black one on the website.

Yes, I will be adding those to the website soon...  A full set of Ms. Pac art (sides, CPO, marquee) and pink t-molding trimmed to 1/2" will run $80 for install yourself.  I've thought about offering pre-installed, but haven't decided on that price yet.

That's cool that you were able to secure all the appropriate licensing.

So, questions for the general populous:

What kind of speakers are you putting behind those fantastic grills? Are they computer speakers? Or like, stereo speakers that you've wired to a 1/8" headphone plug for plugging into your motherboard?

Is this the wrong thread for this question?  :-\

Nope, this is the right thread.  I have used small USB powered speakers in mine, but you could also use car type speakers and a small amp, like this:

http://www.amazon.com/LP-2020A-Lepai-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier/dp/B0049P6OTI/

My next build will probably go the speaker / amp route.

And so you just take the actual speakers out of their cases and screw them to the back of the speaker grill board?

My usb powered speakers I just left in the case and velcro'ed them to the space above the grates.

Alright, to continue my "dumb questions post-purchase" thread:

I guess I don't know what the back panel looks like, because all my questions come from that:

How does power come into this box? Is there just a hole cut in the back where a single power cord can come out? And I guess that follows straight into a more general question: what's the ideal way to set these up to power on? You've got to at least be able to turn on/off the computer and monitor with one switch, right? Or am I missing something obvious?

Only 1 of my bartops runs a PC, Bonnie's Pink Box. It has a wireless KB and mouse, so we shutdown from that. However, most mobo's you can set to shut down PC with press of a button, so you could just wire a button into the back/top and use that to shut down.  Power comes in at the bottom of the door on all my cabs, drill a hole, put an arcade button in there without a plunger, and run the wire through. I unplug the cabs when not inuse and the monitors auto power on when I plug it in.

You might answer a lot fo the questions you come up with by looking at some bartop project threads

Haruman, these are amazing.  Do the cocktail cabs come with control panels?  Your site mentions they can be used with standard Midway metal CPs but I couldn't tell if they normally ship with wood panels.

I don't have them shown, but yes, these can ship with wood control panels, just make a note on the order.  (Metal control panels not included, though).

Hi Haruman, i have a couple of questions.

I am interested in setting one up with a vertical oriented monitor to play pacman, donkey kong, galaga, etc. My goal is to spend less time on the cab and more getting the guts and software done. I like the midway and the nintendo designs. What dimensions are recommended for monitors in these two cabs? The details may very well be in this thread, but its 28 pages! I am leaning towards using on old hp laptop I have sitting around. It is a 15" widescreen with a 1280x800 monitor.
Has anyone used a laptop and a laptop screen in one of these? With the polycarbonate bezel and vesa mount it looks like a desktop style monitor is probably the best bet, but just wondering if there are any other options.

Thanks in advance

With the vertical, a 17" 4:3 is recommended. With the Nintendo, you could do a 19" vertically or a 20.1" horizontally. You could probably get a 15" looking good in the vertical kit if you got creative with some bezel art.

Just doesn't read right to me. Why couldn't you do 20" vertically or 19" horizontally then? I'm too tired  :dizzy:

Clearance!  I have a V1.5 Standard bartop just sitting around, it was a hybrid prototype.  Has the black melamine sides, but the rest is MDF.  I can take pictures if anyone is interested.  I was thinking $75 shipped.

I have been debating how to get after this project for a bit. Your clearance one has me thinking about just going that route. Does the clearance one you are selling have the center piece with the monitor mount? If so, you can put me down for that kit along with the plexi. If not, i would probably pass and opt for a full kit.

Thanks

Yes, it includes the monitor mount piece with 100 x 100 and 75 x 75 VESA mount holes as well as the triangular brackets to hold the monitor mount to the sides.

Sorry not sure if you received my PM,

Was a pedestal ever created for the standard bartop? I think one that is easily detatched and doubles as a bookshelf from the front would be really great.  ill be ordering soon regardless!

thanks
