What's the "friend price" for a wee-cade style kit?  You have to promise not to tell BYOAC that I bought one.

Dude, three words: Konkey. Dong. Bartop.

Hey Haruman!

Okay so, I'm still EXTREMELY green to this whole "building arcade cabinets" thing (aka this is going to be my first one), so I have a couple questions that may be incredibly dumb. I'm looking at the two player wide screen bartop.

Questions!
1) Does it matter what kind of monitor I put in? Or will basically any 23" widescreen LCD fit the bill?
2) You offer a "Clear 1/8" polycarbonate bezel & marquee with black plastic U-channel for the right & left sides of each." Unfortunately my dumb newbie brain doesn't know exactly what that means. What is that?
3) Is there any concern of, like, palm sweat wearing out the paint and such on the control panels?
4) You mention an "admin panel"... is that the buttons on the lower section facing straight out towards the player?
5) Speaking of buttons, I have (what seems to be standard-ish) 30mm buttons. Will those fit the button holes?
6) For the widescreen kit, what do you need as far as motherboard size? Will an ATX motherboard fit, or is it designed for something smaller?

I'm like half a second away from ordering a kit (well, maybe like a paycheck away), but I just wanted to make sure I was fully aware of what I was getting, etc.

Thank you SO MUCH! :)

1) As long as the monitor's physical size is less than 22" wide, any 23" widescreen should work.
2) So, you get the plexiglass to cover the marquee area, and you get the plexiglass to cover the monitor area.  Black U-channel is just a decorative touch that goes on the left / right sides of both.
3) This is black melamine (a type of laminate).  It's not going to wear off under your hands.  :)
4) Yes
5) Yes. the widescreen kit comes with 30mm button holes.
6) I would go with MicroATX.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks!

@snaaaake, the control panel rests on the batons that are glued in. How you attach the cp is up to you. Some people screw it down, some use Velcro, I'm gonna try magnets soon.

I used carriage bolts on my cp for the barstick. I dont have the nut on it so I can twist it off to remove the cp as needed. I use needle nose to start to get it out or finish it down so it is flat.  Then use the fingers for the rest of the twisting. That mug dont go nowhere :D Stays on like a champ. :)

Thanks, my friend. Here's a shot of it in place, under my wall-mounted juke. I'll rotate it out for play.

Awesome kit, HaRuMaN. Wish I had a need to build another one!

Found a place that sells them for $79 shipped for real glass, which is $20 cheaper than anything else I've seen. They have super fast shipping, too.

https://www.xtremegameroom.com/ms-pacman-pac-man-galaga-tron-midway-bally-cocktail-table-glass.html

I made the CPs on this out of metal, the ones on the previous one were wood. Both were fine.

The cocktail looks right at home in the pick, NICE!!!!!  luv the Tempest also.

Yeah, what sold me on this kit is the woodgrain. The melamine HaRuMaN used is a beautiful cherry color. I did use a black top on this one, so that's why the glass looks smoked. I did put a smoked piece of plexi between the screen and glass, though. Looks better.

My daughter gave it a name, and I had a buddy print the vinyl stickers used for the graphics. It really adds a pop to the table.

HaRuMaN, couple more questions I thought of:
1) I saw you mention that the control panel is removeable. Is that the only way into the innards of the case, to replace dead hardware and such?
2) Can you do modifications? I was thinking of maybe two small ports on the back side of the case for USB mounts, so you can plug a keyboard/mouse in for software troubleshooting and such.

2) you can always drill holes to customize it.

Yeah, primary access will be through the back panel, which doesn't get glued. I can add any holes you like, just let me know the size.

How much for one of those?  I can't follow this chaotic thread or your website.

Bottom left.

And yeah, this thread has gotten messy.  I should probably start a separate thread for stuff in progress and a thread of kits that are available.

Are you selling the artwork and t-molding, too?  All I see is a plain black one on the website.

What the hell? Your website lists the price, then says "plus shipping and handling". Click on the "plus shipping and handling" and it opens a pop up window that says "all prices include shipping, no extra charges". :lol

Yes, I will be adding those to the website soon...  A full set of Ms. Pac art (sides, CPO, marquee) and pink t-molding trimmed to 1/2" will run $80 for install yourself.  I've thought about offering pre-installed, but haven't decided on that price yet.
