Hey Lee - Not to interupt the designers love fest here...but I'd like to throw this out there as a possible future design offering.

Not that your cabinets kits aren't incredibly affordable as it is.  But maybe an even more stripped down simple marquee-less cabinet along the lines of these as inspiration?

I'm up in Ajax, Ontario myself. There's only one place locally that I know about, and that's The Playdium Store. It's pretty good - they've got about 20 pins and 10 multi-arcade machines... ...all on free play. (It's getting to the point that I'm thinking the U.S./Canada border is the official "arcade dead zone". I'm hoping to fix that.)

One of those mini, micro, whatever bar-tops would be a good candidate for a smaller wide screen LCD. And have a digital marquee that changes at the top of the vertical LCD depending on the game you play.

As a matter of fact, two Nintendo cabs (one baltic birch, the other white melamine) and the wall hanger were cut today, I'll be picking them up tomorrow.

This is one of my Midway verticals, this one will be going off to Malenko soon (after I get the art on it's Galaga twin and take pics of both together).

You're right. I was a bit cross-eyed looking at it, and didn't even notice it wasn't the Nintendo... ...too much staring at the screen at what I've named, "Haruman's Folly". Got one of these babies in your repertoire, anywhere?

I've been following CNC forums and information for a while now, and from what I understand, precision isn't usually an issue. Like, at all. You may not get the speed of a professional machine, but I hear that there would be little-to-no loss between machines. If you have the room and the ability to assemble it, I'd seriously look into it.

If I had a building, or even the space inside my house, this is the first thing I would build. First. Thing.

One of the coolest things about my CNC guy's setup is the hold down vacuum.  No clamps for material, just a 20HP vacuum pump that pulls air THROUGH a sacrificial piece of MDF to hold down the material above it.

LOVE vacuum tables. Surprising thing? Easy to make! Also, removing 1/16" from each side of MDF makes it flow through.

Vac bed is on my too do list, really good for cutting stuff like acrylic. Also you can then make 100% use of the material.

But for now, what I have is good.

What's that, an hour of your time to cut a 4x8 piece of MDF with 4" square x 1/4" deep grooves and some holes for PVC piping? Get at 'er, man!

I had a feeling that was the case.  I looked high & low for 1/2" Tmold for the barstick. Something other than black or white or 500' of red.
I was hoping that you we're gonna say something goofy like, " Soul-t-Mold.com".   hehehe
