And who would that be?  Surely not the kits you signed up here to sell.

I have permission from the guy who gave me the original CNC file that I have modified a lot, he is well aware of what I'm doing.

To be fair, HaRuMaN is doing this as a service to those who don't have the space/tools/knowhow to cut these on their own. He's never passed these off as anything but a precut kit for convenience.

Unless you're Apple, I don't think you can enforce someone copying the shape of your design.  It's not like there's that much to it.  I could see if HaRuMaN was selling his plans but he's not.  He's providing a service in selling this kit.  There is some serious innovation with the batonless design going on too.

If I were the creator of the Weecade I would just be glad that my name was so commonplace now and that everyone is making them.  Imitation is the highest form of flattery right?  Not that HaRuMaN needs me to defend him.

Fair point but not his plans to start with mate !!
The guy who did these spent a lot of time and work getting it right.

Just to clarify things.  I'm happy for Haruman to use the CNC plans (which I originally created based on Koenigs work).  He's made some neat improvements and these are being contributed back to the open source project which benefits everyone.

So, pretty close to opening orders for these, just looking at a way to better protect the pieces during shipping, think I have a good solution (thanks to Malenko)

I know you mentioned that 19" is a tight fit, but any chance a Dell 2001fp 20" lcd would sneak into one of these?

Sure.  The dimensions are 17 5/8" x  13 7/8" x  3" (WxHxD).

Thanks!

Thanks!

Width wise it fits, barely.  17.72" available.  Height, you could may get away with it, you may have to shorten up the CP a bit...

Depth might work.  At the edge, you have 1.5" between the speaker panel and the baton for back piece...

Decasing might help, too.

Haruman,

Question on your melamine, is there any reason you went with the particle board?

I've sourced some 3/4 melamine with the MDF core.  It's not available in 5/8 though...

Was it weight?

I'm using 1/2" for these kits, as far as I know, the melamine coated particle board is the only material available in the side.

The CNC cuts are razor sharp, though.

Hey, get me some dimensions and I will work on it for you.

Amazon says it is:
21.6" x 13.8"

Newegg says it is:
21.61" x 16.1"

Let me know depth, too...
