I was browsing that Minitendo on the website.  So its not clear to me those options for the marquee, bezel, and control panel plastics are you getting just the clear plastic or does it already have the artwork on the plastic?

Just the clear plastic. The art I invoice separately for.

Marquee goes behind the Plexi, bezel is laminated vinyl that you apply to the Plexi, and control panel overlay is laminated vinyl that applies directly to the control panel.

Thanks...I'm thinking about it cause my son wanted a project to work on.  But every time I hint at another bartop my wife freaks out....lol.

What’s the difference between this company and GameroomSolutions?

It helps me understand why I should have read that before ever ordering anything from GRS.. but what I’m not clear on is if these companies are owned by the same guy??

No they most definitely are not.  Haruman's Customs is owned by me (Lee) based out of Arizona.  GRS is Ryan?  Not sure where he is based.

Ugh, thanks. I meant to order from you but ordered from them instead and ended up with a $500 paper weight.

Hi, do you do full size models? I'm in AZ and can pickup if shipping is the issue with larger units.
Interested in an Asteroids or Full Berzerker...

Yes I can do that.  :)  Being in AZ makes it much easier.

Nearly done with my widescreen bartop build and just have a few questions:

- The kit came with plastic marquee retainers (top and bottom). What should I use to secure them to the cabinet?

- There are vertical batons for the back panel – presumably to make it readily removable. What should I use to fasten the panel to the batons?

- What should I use to secure the control panel to the horizontal (slightly tilted) batons?

Wood screws for the marquee retainers.

I usually attach the top of the back door with hinges and use a small piece of velcro to adhere the back door to the batons

Control panel on that kit I usually attach with industrial velcro on the batons and the top of the admin panel.  ("paint" the top of the admin panel with a thin layer of glue and wait to dry, then apply velcro.  Will stick better that way since it's raw MDF there).

Thanks, Lee! I think I might go with just velcro for the back panel, so it can be removed completely... any reason not to do that if the velcro is strong enough? (I have some velcro rated up to 15 pounds...)

Hi Haruman,

So sorry to bother you on here.

My 11 year old autistic son is absolutely determined that we build our own Minitendo Donkey Kong bartop, exactly as shown on your website Bartop Kits graphic.  I sent you a message via the Contact link on your website, but have not heard back in almost 3 weeks.

Can you give me an idea of the approximate cost to buy the finished cabinet it with all of the DK graphics?  I am also wondering if there is enough room to modify the control panel to have six buttons for some Street Fighter fun?  I live in Toronto, Canada so I'm also wondering what the shipping/duty costs would be (approximately).

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  I love your stuff and how easy it looks to assemble.

Thank you.

Haruman,
I don't suppose you have any sit down non-cocktail style cabinets, like either a Japanese style "candy cab", or something like what's in these pictures from Rec Room Masters (which they discontinued, sadly)?
I can't find any company that makes something like this at a reasonable price (under $1000 before shipping).
Ideally, I'd like a cabinet that does NOT house the monitor, but rather has a backmount, so I can install a rotating VESA mount, allowing me to rotate the TV and change between horizontal and vertical games.
I would be happy to pay you to design the files, if I can't get the CNC files from Rec Room Masters.

@haruman, I built a Widescreen EVO XR2 a few years back.  Have an issue with the control panel and the barrel hinges.   When playing fighting games with lesser experienced players who are rough with the joystick, the control panel starts to pull away from the bartop.  The magnets aren't strong enough and I guess the holes for the barrel hinges have loosened.

Any suggestions on ways to secure the control panel?  Even if I lose ability to quickly access the internals, that would be ok with me if find a way to way secure the CP and enjoy playing more.

You could always put a couple of bolts through the admin panel and the panel behind it...
