GroovyMAME Install order
« on: February 07, 2013, 09:31:49 am »
Hello-

To get Groovymame working what order do I install the packages (CRT EMU, Groovymame, Mame)? Do I still use soft 15 or does the ATI hack force my pc to output 15khz? I have my Sony PVM working with Soft 15 but after messing with the settings through Mame32 (galaga, frogger) I can not the games to fit my screen properly. Do native resolutions fit monitors without using Mame's hardware sctretch? The colors look amazing though!

I know I just asked many loaded questions so any help with the first steps would be great?

Most important: Do I install soft 15 for my display or do I install CRT_EmuDriver?

THANKS

Hi rawbe,

I think this post will help clarifying some of your doubts on Soft-15kHz and CRT Emudriver:

You didn't tell us the card you intend to use.

Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

I will try the uninstalling everything and starting from scratch. I like the sound of CRT Emudriver so that will be step 1.

Then version 6.5 will be good for your card.

When you have the drivers up and running, just create a new folder and place the GroovyMAME executable inside. Go to command line and into the folder you just created, type 'groovymame -cc' to create a fresh mame.ini, and edit it with your roms path. Default settings should be good already.

What error are you getting what heppens when you double click groovy?

start run cmd

cd to where groovy is located

C:\Emulators\mame64\mame64.exe -v >log.txt

then copy the log file so we can see what happens
