hi guys I'm new to the cabinet scene, although I don't have enough room just at the moment for a full sized cabinet, I do like the idea of this.... http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/stepecon.htm does anyone have the drawings for this one or one similar as it would suit me just right, for the size or maybe a 2 player version, so I could use my flat screen, then if this well i'd like to try a bar top one... thank you ad |

^^ not sure what confusious and his translating software is on about (previous and hopefully deleted post by now) is on about but i didnt come to these websites until i got really stuck but if youre just looking for a controller, if you can build a box , you just need to buy buttons/joystick/trackball drill the holes and a mini-pac,whatever-pac or cheaper substitue connect them up, then connect it to a pc, use the pc to run your emulator the rest is just how much youre willing to pay to vajassle it (wahay finally found a use for the word vajassle :) ) |

With small builds like the econ, you'll probably want/need to adjust the design to your choice of computer components. Start with a list of games you really want to play. Design a panel with controls that allow you to play those games -- with a little room for growth. You mentioned a 2-player panel so probably 1 Joystick + 6 buttons per player with some admin buttons (P1/P2 Coin, P1/P2 Start, Exit, Pause, etc.), and perhaps a trackball or spinner. Once you've got the panel designed, you can design the rest of the case that holds the motherboard and power supply. --- Quote from: CpCaveman on January 31, 2013, 03:55:45 am ---^^ not sure what confusious and his translating software is on about (previous and hopefully deleted post by now) --- End quote --- Don't bother posting about the (now deleted) spambot. Just click on the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of the post and enter "spam" as the reason to launch a fire-and-forget ban-hammer strike against the offending spambot. Scott |

Koenigs econ build was about as tight a build as you can make. You should plan your build around your components if you want to make it that tight as you will need to know the measurement of every piece and figure out how you want to place it in the enclosure. Detailed plans for Koenigs box would only help if you were making one with exactly the same parts and materials. |

thanks for the replays, guys, and i've had a rethink and i'm gonna attempt a 2 player bar top, to play MAME and SNES games, altho i know nothing about component requirements, but i'm gonna do some reading up for a good few weeks, then start planning, thank you Ad |
