Ignore the part where he angles Player 3 and 4's joystick.
They should be mounted parallel to the screen regardless of the angle the player is standing at or where the buttons are.
Search the main forum and you'll find debates about it, but the majority of popular 4 player arcade cabinets did not have them angled.

Posting image for Slig. The control panel is a little busy but I love the size of that thing!

My face is bleeding!!!!
Seriously though, the answers to your question are infinite. And I know it's a matter of personal preference, but you may want to consider some alternate design options if you are trying to build a large cab. What you have pictured here is the arcade version of a Honda Civic with a 2ft high wing bolted to the trunk and NOS stickers on the hood.

I would recommend between 1.25 and 1.5 times the size of your monitor.
e.g. 20" monitor: 25" - 30" away.

LOL that is a super hilarious analogy. :laugh2: :laugh2:
I should just make a 4 player version of the Revolution haha, it is such an amazing cabinet! The dual monitors and the auto rotating screen sooooo insanely awesome!!!
P.S. That company made an even more insane version then that, it is freaking HUGE. It has some pretty cool features though. http://arcadesrfun.com/2012/08/29/jace-hall-reveals-arcadesrfuns-ultimate-arcade-game/

Thanks Slig, yeah make a 4-player one I'd love to see that he he. Also, something to think about, how often are you likely to be playing 4-pllayer games? I also nearly went down that road with revolution, but when it comes down to real world use and then realizing the cost of building a 4-player CP, especially if you want it lit up, the cost vs benefit starts to drop rapidly. Expect to spend close to a $1000 on hardware for a lit up 4-player control panel, and then ask yourself, is it really worth that?
