I just realized that I have been on this board for 10 years today!  Pretty cool!  I think back at my first couple set-ups and they sucked!  Then somewhere in between, I went all out with 27" monitors and tons of lights.  Must have been my "blinged out" stage.  At some point I realized that I really just like a simple 19" game with original controls.  Now here 10 years later, I find myself running just single games in cabinets.  Should we call this full circle?

I am just behind you. My 10 years here will be on June 8th. I am working on yet another iteration of my original cab, which should be finished in a couple of weeks. About 5 years ago, I started buying dedicated games, and I currently have 13 of them out in the garage. This has definitely been a fun almost 10 years.

Oh yeah, I recently saw my original drawings of the frankenpanel I thought I had to have back in the beginning. I am so glad I decided to go modular instead.

My first mame cabinet was in 2000, a Capcom Bowling in a Pac-Man cabinet rigged up with a Compusa Crystal trackball bottom being pushed around by the original ball. It eventually ended up in the dumpster.

240 machines later, here I am, 1 mame cabinet and about 30 non-mame ones.

Actually the final stage of evolution in this hobby is pinball machines.  See you when you get here!

Kidding, I appreciate the input from you long term guys in a big way.

I agree with this. Vids hold nowhere near the appeal they used to after I snagged my first pin.
