Whats your budget, and are you lookin for a CPU Mobo combo, or you need RAM too? --- End quote --- Newer AMD like the FX series runs rings around Intel. Get yourself a trinity chipset, which will handle the most demanding games. I have one and it plays EVERYTHING. Make sure you don't cheap out on ram. 4gb at the very least. I'm all for Intel, but for this hobby you can get away with a lot less. Note to Mods: Can we refer these topics to arcade misc in future? |

MAME is optimized to run on an Intel processor and will run much better on Intel than AMD. Look at Haze's response - he's a developer. He knows what he is talking about. This is a direct quote from the MAMEUI Help section: --- Quote ---MameUI64 + Vista64 + C2D chips is the best current combination for MameUI gaming on the Windows platform --- End quote --- |

Yeah, sorry about the confusion Malenko. What I meant is these comparisons are not accurate for MAME. The chart shows that the AMD is actually somewhat comparable to the Intel....... for PC games. When you are talking MAME it isn't even close.. |
