In Irving, TX there used to be a place called Beltline Station...
(It was on Beltline Rd)...
Anyhow, that was the coolest Arcade around... Bigger than the one in the Mall & a bunch of redemption stuff & Vids...
My first
real job was working there when I was 16. I loved working the floor, fixing the coin mechs when they jammed, & handing out handfulls of tokens to kids who helped me out... I was a GOD to those kids...
By the time I quit I had about 5000 tokens at home (a large bucket full)... I'd come back with a pocket full of tokens & play the Tic-Tac-Toe machine f/ tickets for a few months & end up redeeming them for the large 10,000 ticket items on the wall... Ah... Good times...
I wasn't that into the vids then (only 8 years ago), but I've found a new love for them lately.
Heck, I took a MAME set-up (PC, Old Zenith TV, RF Modulator, Home made controls) to my church's "Trunk-Or-Treat" (Halloween Carnival) & had the kids all playing Asteroids, Ms Pacman, Galaga, & Donkey Kong all night!!! That was great...
& The picture through the RF Modulator was MUCH better than I would have expected... Good enough that I plan on putting this set up in a cabinet eventually.
