My First Project- MAME weecade!
« on: May 30, 2013, 02:31:32 pm »
Hi everyone,

I am starting my first MAME Weecade (after abandoning a cocktail arcade idea). I'm looking at a 2 player cab used mostly for fighting games.

Unfortunately I am unemployed in a new country (USA) so am on a tight budget! I am thinking of a Dell 20.1 inch 2007FP with a serial number ending in L but I think that the 2 player weecade kit might be the wrong size for this monitor. This has made me a bit stuck!

If anyone has the dwg files for a 2 player weecade based around a 20 inch 4:3 monitor please share them , that would be a massive help :) As I understand it the plans need modifying to fit that kind of monitor. I cant really afford the 23 inch widescreen some people use on the 2 player kits and the 1 player is way too cramped for 2 players

So far I have:

IPAC 2 USB
Lots of wire, zip ties, .187 connectors and wire tidying clamps
12 red happ buttons (with microswitches)
2 yellow happ buttons (with microswitches)
1 & 2 player buttons (with microswitches)
2 x Sanwa JLT red ball top joysticks
Acer Revo R3700 - Windows 7 / win 7 Sony laptop
3x 120mm fans

Next I need:

Admn buttons (maybe one shift key)
Monitor (size will be worked out once I finalize cabinet plans)
Sound system (any suggestions?)
PCB feet for mounting IPAC on wood
Smart Power strip w/ IEC plug
Industrial Velcro
Aluminum L brackets from Home Depot
Powerstrip - smart
Marquee light
Rubber feet
Artwork
Fan grills

Software:
MAME
Hyperspin
Autohotkey

Any thoughts you may have would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks so much,

Leon
