iPac2 + Dollar bill acceptor/validator

Pages: (1/1)

RobKohr:

I am looking to set up a machine that will give credits to a user for inserting $1, $5, $10 or $20 bills.

I have an iPac2 and I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to whether I can hook up a bill validator like this:
http://www.vendingworld.com/vendingparts/billvalidators.php

to it and register those values as different keystrokes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: this is for a kiosk related to a business, and I am not setting this up for a mame arcade to get people to pay for games I don't own the copyright to.

hi

andy has clearly stated this
>Important Legal Note.
For legal reasons we must state here that the I-PAC is not designed to be used in revenue-earning applications where a credit mechanism is used. The I-PAC contains no specific interface functionality for any credit device. Although it has inputs labelled "COIN", these are labelled as such because activating a switch connected to them causes the MAME "coin" keycodes (5 or 6) to be sent. These are designed to be used with panel pushbuttons not coin doors or note acceptors.

Intent aside, I assume if it sends, say, 4 pulses to indicate $0.25 each when you insert a dollar, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
