Yea running a long cable would be a great first start.  Maybe you go to wireless later, maybe you don't.  But at least you don't have to deal with anything.  All you need to do is plug the cable into your router and PC.  The machine is setup for DHCP so it will get an IP address, DNS server IP address, Gateway IP address automatically.  You will be connected in seconds.  That and when you select "Broadband" during cabinet registration.  If you find your machine was already registered when you got it you will need to unregister and then register again.  Only do this AFTER running the 0.2 patcher CD.

Hey boost, went to download the patch and its just taking me to the front page, asking if I want to upload my files. Is the patch still available?

I have a Championship III that is not working.  The computer will boot, I get the EA splash screen, some intro and then it goes blank.  Press the start button and it reboots.  The operator button isnt working but I didnt want to splice it to make it work without finding out if this thing is repairable.  I assume the drive is fragmented or maybe video memory.  Any ideas?

Hey 96p993, I didn't know that File Dropper removed the files if not downloaded within 30 days.  From their website:
How long are the files kept?
The files are kept forever as long as they are being downloaded. If the files are not downloaded even once within 30 days consecutively they are removed. If you have a premium account your files are never deleted.

I'll reupload it to a permanent spot tonight.  Sorry about that.

quick question for boost or spit...I can take my computer and a monitor out of the cabinet and hook it up anywhere I want. Now this means no controls but I have a ps2 keyboard and mouse....Will this work to get this moving? We are making the move with the cabinet upstairs but I just wanted to see if there is any reason this wouldnt work

It all boots up fine but Im not sure how to get past the no card reader press start screen...Enter does nothing, what equates to start on the keyboard??

Hi Cs with regards to ur championship 3 machine it sounds to me that the game is not installed on ur hard drive. Does the game stop with the start menu visable and a ea sports wallpaper? If not then maybe it could be a video card issue try replacing card or even ram. If that fails you may need to install the game to ur hard drive again.

96 you want be able to pass the no card reader press start screen unless you have you controls attached to ur machine even with a the keyboard attached.

Unfortunately i dont think the keyboard is going to work for you.  You need the trackball and buttons.  I too have my test rig out of the cabinet.  I took the pc, card reader, trackball, and wiring harness out.  I use a regular pc monitor.  All io comes into the game via the octopus cable in the back.  Keyboard and mouse wont control game.  But i could be completely wrong.

Oh great news also regarding players cards.  I identified the manufacturer of the card readers and talked to them today.   They sent me the software development kit so i can connect the reader to my pc and dump an original players card.  Then i can provision new ones for everybody.  They are regular smart cards.  Run about a dollar fifty cents each.

We got the game upstairs and all is good...I can move forward as soon as I find my long cables...

That is awesome about the cards...Has anyone discussed the older style card readers (no LED's) and possibly getting them to work?

Hey 96 good to here bout the cab move and also great about the cards boost. My test cab has no card reader also. Only have one and some player cards on my all access machine which hopefully boost can get the registration options to show up in the operators menu. Otherwise I need to find another card reader also.

I will get it in just a couple....

Now fill me in on exactly what you want me to do. I have read back through but I want to have everything in one spot when I start doing all this. I will have a cable long enough in a couple hours so I guess take it from plugging the cable in and going from there.

Thanks Boost

Ok just finished moving everything from my test machine to the real server.   Here is what you do:
1) Download patcher iso image and burn to cd.
2) Put cd in running team tournament game.  Black screen will appear with status and tell you when to eject cd and rebooy game.
3) Connect game pc to your router
4) Go into service mode and if your machine reports a cabinet id then unregister it via unregister button.
5) Register machine via register button and then select 4 digit mode button.  Choose any 4 digits you want.
6) After registration completes successfully.....it better hahaha....Force a call via force call button.
7) Return to game.

After returning to game it might say a scheduled reboot is required and counts down....let it reboot.  Enjoy the tournament!

Remember....machine must call in to get info and give info.  Because the machine doesnt run 24/7 you will want to force a call each time you boot up.
.

That is correct,  tournaments are up!  Current test one ends tomorrow night.  Test 2 will start right after that.  I will need to play a few rounds to get the leaderboard and all other stats propagating properly across all machines.  But basically......we should be good to go!!

There were no discs in the unit.  Only the PC, some stickers, and the blue operators manual.  Does anyone have some discs they are willing to sell?

How do I force call?

You get into service mode by pressing the red button on the little metal bracket that has the volume control and sound amplifier.  Open the coin door and look inside, it will be facing you.

You force a call, register, unregister, etc from the connection menu in service mode.  I can't remember off the top of my head what the name of the menu is, but you use the left and right buttons to scroll up and down.  Each menu will have sub menus.  I think it is like the second or third from the bottom.  Pretty obvious once you get in there.  As soon as you enter service mode the first screen you are presented with will let you know if you have a cabinet id or not.

I don't mean to ask a dumb question, but what I uploaded was an ISO which is a disk image.  Did you just burn the .iso file to a CD or did you burn the ISO image to a CD?  There is a difference.

If you used image burn then odds are everything worked behind the scenes.  I bet the game just couldn't be stopped for some reason.  I say go for it....attempt to register.  It won't hurt anything if the patcher didn't run.  You will just try to register with GVR which won't happen.  So yea, try to register.

Correct, 5006 is no connection to server.  I don't think the patcher ran.  Put the cd back in the machine that burnt it and see if it is good.  You should see 4 files on the CD.

Yea I think the game requires the card reader to be present.  I will test tonight.  I don't have a players card yet, but I do have some on the way to test/use until I come up with the new card solution.  Congrats on connecting and registering though.  Looks like you are the first customer.

For people that have Team Challenge the doors are open.  All Access Pass people just give me a little time and I will have a patcher for your machines that will re-enable tournament and point you to the private server.  Also Challenge version is in the works.

So is there going to be any way to go from TC to All Access? The 250 is tough to swallow
