PGA Tour Golf by Global VR & EA Sports Owners Thread

I have just picked up a PGA Tour Golf Challenge which has a bad monitor and bad hard drive.

I am going to replace the monitor with one of the 28" VIZIO screens as that will probably be much more reliable than trying to fix the Kortek monitor but the problem I have is my cab never came with the recovery disks.

Does anyone here have an image of the recover and game disks for a US version of Challenge.  The motherboard in mine is the DFI board.

on your doongle is a set of #'s
u MUST MATCH THEM FOR THE BUILD..
from there look for stpcore's up-load's
if this thread is still alive i can not see why the bucket thing is not.?
but if u run into a  .img problem >which btw u are asking for<> and or >iso<
ask a mod here..shawn is handy that way..

No I am in the US, Thats why I assumed it was a US version...

Does the UK prefix mean I would need to find the UK Game Disks

us/uk are same build pre-say..find a usa build..
i cannot help u there as mine are canadian..diff build
u want 1.5 to match your key..it will say it right on the disk's..
there will be about 12-x digit's
then at the bottom will be the build #

I was looking at the GlobalVR store to see if I could still get the disks from there and have can across these which I believe would work for my setup

System Recovery Disk, PGA TOUR Golf, Challenge Edition, US Only (050-0072-01)

and then

Game Install Disks, PGA TOUR Golf, Challenge Edition (050-0085-01)

But nowhere does it mention anywhere about a build number, or a version number as low as 1.5

Hello! I have had a PGA Tour Team Challenge cabinent for awhile with the all access pass. I was wondering if there is a way to unlock the golfers or the tournament mode or the world tour to get the stuff locked because of the box being offline now that the servers have been shut down for awhile. Also have a beta brite board that came with it and i have it connected corectly and tests ok but cant get it to display any stats or anything in game. Have any of these things been figured out at all? if so any direction would be awesome!

Make sure that you have both power n the com cable connected to the betabrite topper and the com cable is connected to the pc com port. It should then display stays automatically once a course is being played.

Ed any news to give us on the online play or the unlocking of items??

Thanks Spitfire sir. Yes i have it to the com1 port and the power in it, i noticed in attract mode it takes the board like 2 to 3 minutes to even display buy your.... or new courses... lol, i think something might be wrong with the board. thanks for the reply! vbdetf

Make sure that the com cable is plugged in properly at the bretabrite end if so try another port at pc end if there is one it fits. Also a non corrupt sign should give 3 beeps on power up.

Welcome to the thread.  I started this thread a while back and you are correct...there is a bunch of info on here ranging from tech support to nifty tutorials but I have yet to see any evidence of an active server for tournament play.  If it does exist, nobody within these forums  made mention of it (and I'm sure someone would have happily mentioned it).  I feel that this would be the most beneficial addition to the PGA Tour Golf community.  If you would like to make this happen I would be happy to assist in any way that I can.

I like when someone pops in here all guns a blazing making bold statements.  Let's see what you can do my friend and don't hesitate to reach out to me publicly or via PM if I can be of any assistance.

yes it is done and is douable
u have to read until your eye's bleed
it is not as simple as plugging in a lan card and away u go..no sir...
first u have to remove the dial-up crap
then u need to tun on the on-board lan.>not an easy task in xpe<
then u need to inbed the cmd's into hercules
next u need to manualy add each and every driver windows will bark for >26 if mem serv'sme<
next u must rember u are playing with a very out-dated sql with no way to up-date it
unless u up windows to sp3,which again is not an easy task because u are working with windowsxp(e)
now with that said it is easy to do and best to run on a xp server
as a 7 server opens a whole new bag of tricks
but i would love to see your work

Hey Ed, thanks for the information.  I have a different approach when working on things like this.  Some people like to rip the guts out of things and fight the system where i take a "KISS" approach.  But like i said, talk is cheap and the proof is in the pudding.  I look forward to bringing everybody connectivity and having some fun.

ok as i like a person with the stones to tell me they are not going to
gut down a sowtware program to fiquire out why it dose not did what u wish it to,
i will lend a hand here,so please follow along
get a computer with windows xp service pk3 on it olny..nothing else
dump all of the dll's into a .dll file
202meg worth
now copy that to a usb stick
from there get your pga up and running
hit the windows key on your keyboard
this will bring u to a windows screen
find where u plugged in your usb stick,?
then copy the dll's into system32
this should up-date your internet and a few other bug's without
fregging up your winxp(e)..
i would however expect u to have a backup of the original game
incase u need to go back
there is more tricks to do here
but if u read the thread's and u are as good as u claim,u should beable to whip toghter a server in no time
remeber everyone attached has to be assigened there own .img/.bin-id/and route #

so i went about it the best i know how,man what a learning curve
from reason's of why this video card did not work to why the onbard lan would not work,found them all and posted on them,then i went ahead and add the new extra player's missing in team challange,game face's,bill-board score,>all server strapped<
but u are correct there may be a different way?
i have never seen it but that means 0 also..
i want u to keep 1 thing in mind
these point's are very very important
u are working with windowsxp(e) embeeded
that mean's in easy term's there is limted driver's
and any changes u make u MUST reflect in hercule's >1 of my last post's to u<
to do any advance editing u will run into advder
it is propirty to them and they get picky
aslo if u are usa bound watch out for :EA: sport's
if they get wind of a on-line server with pga
they will send u a cies and disit order >stop for short<
or u will end up in a wack of dodo
please for the love of good do not post your working code
in public....the mod's here do not like it

Well that is unfortunate that I was forgotten.  I know many people here had asked if you wouldn't mind sending them an invite when you had the server up.  Did you invite anyone from this thread to play?  I know that Spitfire has been requesting an invite from you for years  I would love to get some feedback on the online server play.  Do you have any screenshots that show how it looks to be playing online?  I never played this game when it was active and connected to online servers in it's day but have always been curious.
