I've had Team Challenge now for a couple months and I'm looking to join online. I'm having problems getting to the operators screen. I've tried the button and I think the issue is the USB I/O. I can't find an exact replacement part for it online and wouldn't mind if anyone had any input on this. Also when you create (your face) players how do you get all access to all the options provided when creating a player?

Hi Scoops, welcome i can help get you online and all you need is at our facebook

Hello all!
I just registered so I can join in this topic.

I am currently looking at buying a PGA tour Challenge standup machine for $800 canadian. Going to look at the machine tonight when the seller gets off work.

I've never played this game, but always wanted one since I used to play tiger woods golf 2004 on the ps2 way back when.

I currently have a street fighter 2CE and a ninja turtles '89 and wasn't sure this hulking PGA tour would look good in my game room, but I think I can find a way to make it work.

Does anyone have any advise or things I should look for before buying? From the pictures, it looks immaculate.
the seller claims to have replaced the motherboard and rebuilt the trackball. he doesn't have the backup discs or dongle. he claims to have a card that expands and gets more courses. says the repairs cost him $300, so he's confident that he's not selling a 'lemon'.

Thanks for any help. Hopefully the sale goes well and I can get online and join this gaming community for tournaments once I get as good as I was with tiger back in the day

Thanks Jason, that gave me enough info to make the change.  I looked through all 35 pages of this thread and didn't find info on how to add the images. so here's a quick tutorial for others.

Start with the same process of letting the game boot all the way to the attract screen, then press the windows button.

Navigate to the c: drive

Then PGA_Tour_2006 folder

Then Shell

Then Images

Then GolferSelect

Within the GolferSelect folder you will see four images for each of the golfers on the select screen.  Find the golfer that you replaced, ie: Tiffany Williamson was replaced in my game with Tiger Woods.  Drop the new Tiger Woods images into the folder.  You need to copy the file name from the replaced golfer (Tiffany Williamson), delete that file, then paste the copied name into the name of the new file (Tiger Woods).  Do this for each of the files.  Gist of it is, old files names need to be used with the new files.

Thanks Spitfire for the images.  I'm tempted to replaced all of my images now.

I ran through the whole process of changing out the players on Saturday night. It worked, and I do now have Tiger, Arnold Palmer, and Jack in the game.  However, at the bottom of the screen during play it still has a mini headshot of the replaced player. There must be a way to do this process but instead of replacing golfers that are in the players.ini file, I would think that somewhere in the game is a code line that states which lines from the players.ini to use.

Smarter powers that be have looked into this and it apparently takes some that has very expensive specific software to look into the code in its specific language. To cut a long story short its not that easy they say. Way over my head ha ha ha

Hey guys, you don't need to use old obsolete mainboards or IDE drives or even old Graphics boards. Our current builds use Asus H61 mainboards (as they have parallel ports on-board), 32gig SSD drives and Nvidia 610 graphics cards, 2gigs ram and a plain Pentium G3020 dual core processor, but even i3 i5 or i7 will also work. Everyting works 100% with that hardware setup, and is blazing fast. You just need to make a few tweaks in the bios and run a patch on the registry to make XPe think that SP3 is installed. That's it.
Hi mate, did you happen to have any more specific information on this? I'm sure that there are a number of people with busted PGA PC's that would be interested in the bios tweaks and registry patch you mentioned.

Did anyone ever figure out how to do this?
Cheers.

I know this thread moved to a facebook group... but figured I'd ask if anyone has a PGA Tour Team Challenge for sale in the NJ area and/or has parts to make a complete PGA Tour Team Challenge?

Thanks in advance

Ditto on FB. Never done it and kind of lost track of this but still have the game and still play online although not as fun w/o ranting and play very seldom. Can we take the forum somewhere less intrusive?  Was super happy to see posts show back up here after so long. Makes me want to plug that effer back in now!  Miss everyone from forever ago!!!

If so, can I get their names and locations so that info can be added to future leaderboards. Thanks.

Hoping someone can help.  I replaced a bad PGA pc with a Dell Optiplex gx280 as many people have done.  The game plays great, there just isn't any sound.  I check the game settings and it is not turned off.  I downloaded the driver package from Dell for windows XP (obviously doesn't work on XP embedded) so now I am a little stuck.

Some background. I kept the original HDD(IDE) and boot from that. Added a 6600 video card and loaded drivers.

Can anyone assist with adding the proper audio driver to play this game?
(PGA Chellenge, not team)

Is there a generic driver that will work?

Thanks

same here... I deleted all my facebook crap about 8 years ago....I hate facebook and don't trust it AT ALL, for reasons which will soon become apparent.

I decided to make a throwaway facebook account just to see the PGA group.

So I head over to faceballs click make an account. I make up a generic name (one of the most proliferant first and last names out there) and go to temp-mail to create a temp throwaway email... sign up with one of the randomly generated e-mail addresses ... click through some ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- about friends and phone numbers and stuff (which I basically dismiss) and then promptly get handed a rando's facebook account with my generic AF first and last names complete with friends and everything. Yeah...no...I don't want ANYTHING to do with Facebook since they could just hand your account over to someone.

Hi all!

I am on the verge of snagging a team challenge machine in the UK and discovered this thread a few days ago. Some read! Disappointed to get to the last few pages though, to discover little activity due to a shift to facebook. Never have and never will sign up for that so just hoping no one forgets us over here!!

Anyway, cant wait to get on the servers and compete. Had a golden tee live machine for a few years but it get boring playing on your own!!

Hey guys.
If youíve been rejected from the Facebook group, itís because you didnít answer the screening questions. This is standard practice when appliying to any Facebook group. We are bombarded with phoney applicants looking to phish information or to sell something to our members so weíve had to be more selective with who weíre accepting. I personally look at the applicantís Facebook profile to make sure theyíre a real person. So if youíve created an account without a Facebook photo or any information and youíve also not answered the two screening questions , Iíll likely believe youíre a spammer and reject the application.
Iíve also personally sent private messages to many applicants asking them questions to ensure the person applying is a real person, but when those messages go unanswered or unseen for days, the request is rejected.

We have 90 Facebook members at the moment, so itís not as if weíre being overly selective and deemed you to be unworthy.
You must be falling into the Ďhigh riskí category by not following the application process.
Sorry about that. Please answer the screening questions and if you can elaborate and say youíre from this board, Iíll be sure to accept your request.
