Hey guys, ;D I am looking to accumulate a list of Games for each genre of arcade game. I am trying to make this list detailed and specific. I.E. have every Street Fighter arcade game made, Every MK Arcade game, but not other random fighter type games that I have never heard of just to have them. I would love to have the option to play any Tekken games made without having to crawl through 10's to 100's of games I have never heard of and more than likely will not play. So I am trying to keep them out of my list and only keep the ones I will play. - I completely understand that there is a large majority out there that love trying out new games and learning about them, etc, it just not my cup of tea. - :-\ SO.... In Your Opinion what are the top Fighter Arcade Games "worth having" of all time? Please feel free to go into detail (see below) 1. Street Fighter a. Street Fighter b. Street Fighter Vs Marvel c. Etc 2. Mortal Kombat a. Mortal Kombat b. mortal Kombat 2 etc etc etc :blah: |

I haven't gotten into them seriously yet, but the Neo Geo franchises are usually considered must have. (King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, etc) One game that might be overlooked is Soul Edge. IIRC there are two completely different versions in MAME and one requires higher specs to run than the other. The Dreamcast version of Soul Calibur is the one console game that I would consider putting on my arcade-only cab. Is this just limited to MAME? --- Quote from: LASmith132 on December 03, 2012, 11:09:43 am ---I am looking to accumulate a list of Games for each genre of arcade game. I had no idea that there were two types of mame to play higher end games? I would love to play the higher end newer arcade fighting games! I guess I just don't know the difference or what mame.exe to play them on etc, anyone want to look over my setup? |

There are two different Sould Edge roms in the MAME set (regular and Ver.b IIRC) One of them requires less processor speed than the other, so if one doesn't run full speed on your system, try the other. I asked if this was limited to MAME because there are a lot of cool fighting games that are playable on emulators other than MAME. (Sega Model 2 Emulator, Supermodel, Demul, Makaron, and the Taito Type X games run on a PC without an emulator) |

I really like the neo geo fighters. I really don't think you're gonna get a great detailed list of all arcade genres without doing some homework and playing some games you may have never tried before. |
