Wanted to keep the buttons on the trackball. If I ever do it again I would, and use the little arcade buttons next to it for left\right clicking.

I have never used bondo, thought about something like this though. If it looks like ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- when I am done I probably will go this route

I second this opinion.... real hardware would look less "crap-mame" worthy!

Give the bondo a shot. Get creative. Put on some enya on the boombox, take your shirt off, maybe have Ghost playing on the panasonic tv/vcr combo in the corner. Get dirty with it. Let the curves take you where they want to go. There's no shame. Just you and the bondo... together... making it happen.
