Unique/notable clone roms?
paigeoliver:
The two versions of Berzerk are so different that they are almost different games. I know one collector who has two Bezerk machines, one with each romset.

Sorry for the derail, I felt I had to address Dave's post though.
This should be more what you're looking for:

--- Quote from: scottjen26 on February 09, 2011, 10:01:55 pm ---Just wanted to post an updated list. Updates were made based on some further research and tips I got from various responses I received on another forum. Also changed to maintaining the list in a text file so I could paste it directly in the post.
Thanks!
Scott

Nice, was thinking of that one too, but couldn't find it.
There are still some interesting things from the thread that I linked that aren't on that list, especially the one about the Super Street Fighter II Turbo AI. There's probably other threads we haven't thought of yet too.
Who's up for compiling all this to a master list and getting it stickied?
DaveMMR:
Ahh, okay. When I responded I was focusing on these parts:
--- Quote from: RyoriNoTetsujin on November 30, 2012, 05:20:32 pm ---The idea of paring down and/or managing a full rom set came. I have a list of about 10 or so games for which I purposefully kept a "unique" clone rom for.
I imagine most of us keep clones for language reasons if nothing else, but what are the other games you play that have what you would consider "notable" clones?

And also the link to the thread about SSD space concerns and figured you were asking because you were going "clone hunting" to clear up some space there. Sorry, carry on. :embarassed:
--- Quote from: rCadeGaming on November 30, 2012, 07:22:30 pm ---This was also discussed at length in another thread, but I'd say don't delete ALL the CHD games. Most of them aren't worth the space, but there are a few gems that are. The list of CHD games isn't that long, so try them out and pick the ones you want to keep.

Personally, I actually don't delete any of them. I never download them in the first place. When I do find a game I want to try that requires it, I'll obtain it (e.g. Simpsons Bowling). But for the most part, I'm mostly about 80's and 90's classics - very little need for the CHD games.
