Bill Acceptor help needed
« on: January 21, 2013, 07:53:22 am »
Hello,

Can someone give me a little introduction of how to use a bill acceptor? I have got a used bill acceptor. It's model is ICT P77. It has come with a couple of cables. I have downloaded the manuals from ICT website but I still don't get the function completely.

Kindly tell me how can I use it?

With some searching I have come to know that there's some software FP001 that I need to program it. But I still don't get the completely functionality. I will be very thankful if somebody can briefly tell me how to use it from A to Z. If you know some links to some tutorial etc please share them too.

Thank you.

hi
to start with the fp001 is the programer
that u use to load the :dba: with it's new firmware
u need to call ict and they will send u the proper flash for your dba,
u can not use the fp001 under window's7 the best i have ever found bar none is xp
the fp001 hook's to your serial port of the host putter, then it is hooked via a rj45 cable to the dba,on the dba is 8 switch's u turn all of them off expect for sw6
or 4 it is in the manual
i have 90% of the ict file's and manual's
pv77 come's in alot of dif confg's 12v/24v/34v/120v
it could be host controled ie the machines putter tell's it to run or it could come as stand alone,do u know what machine this unit came out of ? this will go along way..
also are u usa? canadian? or eroupe? these answer's are nessary because the bin file's change acrodley

Thank you very much ed12 for the detailed reply. It clears a lot of things.

First of all, I am from Asia (Pakistan). I came to know that bill acceptors are used in the vending machines. Vending machines are very rare here in my country. So, I was researching how feasible it is to build a vending machine.

A friend of mine brought the bill acceptor from China and he says it accepts the local currency i.e. Pakistani rupees but only new notes(bills). I want to test the bill acceptor and make it work with the old notes. If it works I might import more.

So, I will write to ICT for the fp001 programmer. Can you tell me what else do I need to make the bill acceptor function and also calibrate it to accept old notes(bills) as well?

hi
i will talk to calif. this afternoon and see if there is a bin
as a rule if it take's the new money it should take the old
when u request the fp001,also request an aligment card
it is a white card with 8 black bar's on it
also go to ict.com/tv that should be the head office in tiwian
where u can get the manual for your unit

hi
there is more to this then meet's the eye
but let's get the basic down first
and i can help u 100%
they are calling twian for me

Ed,

To recap our phone conversation, please inquire as to the following from
your
customer...

1) Which interface is he going to be using on his vending machine?
2) Which denomination notes does he need to be able to accept?
3) Has there been any re-designs on the Pakistan Rupee currency
in the last several years? Size changes or material changes in the
      notes themselves?

I'm trying to figure out why the validator will accept newer notes but not
older ones. Are older notes going out of circulation? How important is
it to be able to accept the older notes?

Thank you

Scott Parker

so u can clearly see we need these basic answer's
then i will get the tech stuff for u
the fp001 may not be what u need,as your country and china had a wack of different protocol's where fp001 is set up for mdba
yours may be totaly different

Dear ed, first of all billions of thanks for all this help. I am really thankful to you.

Ok, I will ask them for fp001 programmer and the alignment card. I have already downloaded the manual.

Ummm ed, As I mentioned I haven't tested the bill acceptor myself so I am not sure about the answers of these questions. Can you suggest me someway to test it with some currency?

According to my friend; the bill acceptor is designed for Pakistan's currency. There haven't been much changes in the currency notes design but the notes are made of paper like material and older ones usually get really rough.

But I must mention here that by "older notes" I mean the notes that have been used for some time and have gotten rough/dirty. Not old in sense of design.

I haven't researched anything about interface. My first concern is to make bill acceptor work first. It is the most important thing.

Thank you again for the help. The forum has proved to be much much more helpful than my expectations.

Zaaid
