How do I use both Mame32 .59 and .58???
brandon:
I am trying to use different versions of Mame32 .58, .59 and AnalogMame32 .58 but they all seem to be looking at the same cfg file even though they are in different folders. I get the version mismatch everytime I close one out and run the other. Is there a seperate Mame.ini in the system folder or something in the registry that it looks at?? I want to have them totally independent but share the roms folder. I have set all the paths to a seperate cfg folder for each but it doesnt work, what gives!?! Any one ever try this and have any luck??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Brandon

Nevermind, I think I figured it out. Mame32 does store the cfg in your registry despite what I had been told. now no more version mismatch message... Now if i could figure out why mame32analog crashes when I click the sound tab under default options. I just love it when things don't work........ :)

When the source for mame32 v.58 first came out, it had that error. Since then, a fixed version of mame32 came out, but I haven't updated Mame32:Analog+ with that fix. Right now, I'm crashing, I mean trying to fix, v.59 Analog+ (mame & mame32). It compiles, but crashes when it's run. >:(

Its no big deal my solution is just don't click the sound tab :) Don't need to anywayz :) I'm not complaining, thanks to you I can actually get these games to respond the way they were meant to! I just discovered your version of Mame yesterday and I have been playing with it non stop ever since. I can't believe that these features aren't built into the official MAME. They make so much sense. Now the plan for my MAME cabinet just got more ambitious (2 optical joysticks, 3 or 4 steering wheels/spinners, trackball, 2 terminator 2 style guns) I don't even know where to start but at least I have the software part figured out :-D Thanks for making analog+ let me know if I can do anything to help the project (ie. testing controls, drivers, etc..)

Brandon,
Can you explain exactly what you did regarding the registry to allow yourself to play both Mame32 v.59 and Mame32 analog v. 58? I too see the config info in the registry. Did you just blow it away? Does mame32 also store general mame config info in a file under the respective subdirectory?
Since my video card doesn't support hardware stretching, I need to run a couple of instances of Mame32, each with different video settings.
