Restore: Paperboy: 'Exclusive!' - Restore with enhanced side art

Maximus:
Thanks for the compliment.  Scott does really nice quality print work.

Well USPS didn't arrive with the side art yesterday so I guess it will be Monday now.

I do have a worthy update though.  All along I've wanted to make this a very special Paperboy cabinet, even to go as far as calling the project 'Paperboy Exclusive Edition' and considering the standard of some of the other Paperboy cabinets out there I knew I couldn't say that without doing something special.

So far the build features have been fun and I certainly feel that they have added to the original without taking away from its character. But that wasn't enough to call this Exclusive.

Over the last few months I have been spending a lot of time tracking down and talking with the original members of the Paperboy development team from Atari all those years ago.  As you can imagine everyone from that original group have moved in different directions over the almost 30 years since the game was made. It's been a huge privilege and fun adventure bringing the team back together for this project and they have been so generous and supportive with their time, emails and stories about Atari back in the day. Each team member has agreed to sign their own mini plaque that will be displayed on the games bezel around the monitor.  The plaques display the person's name and their role in the Paperboy project.

Here are all the mini plaques ready to be shipped out for signatures

Once we have all the signed plaques back I will be mounting them on a custom made wooden bezel around the monitor.

I want to express my deepest thanks to John Salwitz, Dave Ralston,  Doug Snyder,  Breighton (Rusty) Dawe, Don Traeger and the rest of the Atari team for coming along for this ride and helping me create a Paperboy that truly deserves the title of Exclusive Edition.

More to come soon.

Le Chuck:
Amazing! That's exclusive for sure! Can't wait to see it complete.

Maximus:
Let the sticking begin

Maximus:
First side on and trimmed with the blue and black T-Molding to finish it off.

emphatic:
Sweet Lord!  :notworthy:
