  • I want to Build My Own Arcade Controls!!
Cocktail Table Joysticks
« on: June 19, 2002, 12:06:58 pm »
Can anyone recommend a place to buy Cocktail Table Style Joysticks. I am looking to build 2 Mame based Cocktail Tables in the style of Ms Pacman. One which I would like to use 4 way joystcks and the other using 8 way joysticks (to play games like Bomb Jack).

Ideally I would like them to be new with a ball style handle. If anyone can recommend anywhere I would be grateful.

goto www.videoconnect.com

they have new 4 way ball handle microswitch joysticks, but they don't have leaf switch ones anymore.  They were pretty much the last place to carry those and they are all gone now. :(  But you can still get the micro switch ones.

Happ controls makes a 4 way / 8 way switchable joystick with a ball handle. Switch is done with a restrictor plate on underside of joystick. That way, if you ever decide to make your 4 ways into 8 ways, you can.

I think they are about $12 each.

See links for website URL.

As you live in the UK (I'm guessing from your email address) I would suggest you try either the 2-4-8 way switchable Sega joysticks available from Suzo (UK) or maybe the J-Stik from Ultimarc.

J-stick from ultimarc operates in 8-way or true 4-way mode by rotating the restrictor.
Just check it out Here
