The Apple 2 version is WAY better IMHO.

Curious what you find better? Usually I much prefer the originals, and I was using the C64 version for a while, but the arcade version has better graphics (although I definitely have a soft spot for the original graphics), I like how you don't have to press a button just to stand still, and technically the fact of being able to save the high score through MAME Is nice. And between Lode Runners I-IV you pretty much get all the same levels.

I'd compare it to hearing one of your favorite songs from 30 years ago covered by (insert name of latest tween pop star here).
The newer version might be more technologically advanced, but after enjoying the original it's like going from prime rib to spam.
Also the arcade version has a relatively smaller play area -- defined by the number of hole-sized spaces on the play field.
I think the Apple version would play even better with an analog stick like the Kraft joystick -- pretty sure that the game was designed to work with that type of stick.

When people come over to play, they always really enjoy MJ's Moonwalker.

YES!
I kid you not, everyone I have shown this to, wants/needs to beat the game in one sitting. I actually stopped showing it to people for this reason.
Its a game made by Stefon because it has everything.
Four Micheal Jacksons, Henchmen in trench coats, Bobo the monkey, Mecha-Michael, Children tied up in the corner, Mega-villian Danny de Vito in a ponytail, Thrusting robots, Dick slanging vacuum robots, zombies, Literal Killer Dance moves and you leave the club by turning into a spaceship.
