Can't get MALA to work on my Arcade Cabinet
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:04:05 pm »
I apologize in advance if this question is in the wrong topic/board and if it is long-winded, but this is my first post and I really need some help!!  =)

So, I have my mame running on Mala and all runs just fine on my widescreen pc monitor.  When I try to run it through my Wei-Ya (Macrovision?) 29" arcade monitor on my dedicated cabinet made by Fun Company in Winsconsin, i keep getting the 'OVERSPEC' box that pops up against a black screen.  I have a buddy who has been trying to walk me through this via phone as he is the one that built everything on the software side.

So I've gone through and changed everything to 800x600 resolution in all folders before starting up MALA, and I can play all mame games if I click on either the nonag.64 (which comes up as all text to choose from different games) or mamenonag 64 UI (which comes up with a screen shot of each MAME game).

Any ideas what I am missing/doing wrong at this point?  I know this is limited info, but I'm hoping that someone out there has either remedied this problem or knows what the heck I'm talking about, because I barely do.  =)

Thanks in advance!

Tommy

Find the specs of your monitor.

Learn what 'native res' means, and what it requires.

Oh, and change your thread title to 'Wei-Ya monitor', in lieu of 'arcade cabinet'.
