The front artwork is a printed vinyl decal. I had a local print shop do it from a high-quality PSD file that I found.
I adjust the volume in software. I'm running Mala, so I've just assigned a combination button press/joystick move to make the volume go up or down.
I had thought about the metal control panels for authenticity's sake, but decided I wanted the thickness of the wood to help make the "clicky" sounds in the controls quieter.
I have vinyl stickers for the sides, just haven't put them on yet. :)
And for the power switch, I just used a plain old red arcade pushbutton wired directly to the "power" header on the motherboard. That starts up the PC, then the Belkin power-saver strip powers up everything else a few seconds later (lights, monitor, speaker amp).
