Megatouch Maxx Battery Replacement
« on: September 25, 2012, 09:50:57 pm »
Saw a couple other posts on here about Megatouch and thought I would throw this out to see if anyone is familiar with them... I've been having problems with my Megatouch Maxx, Unicorn board, needing the cmos time and date reset every time I leave it off for a few days. I'm trying to replace the motherboard battery, but I can't find it for the life of me. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi!

Very same problem, i can't find the battery

Its a megatouch maxx, telco 586 motherbord with millenium "heavy" i/o card.  Telco riser card.

I removed the i/o board to triple check i wasnt missing the battery below but i can't see it !

Maybe it s not the usual cr2032 battery type ?  That would explain i dont see it ...

Many thx.

I agree with ed on here.

That battery is standard coin battery, used on just about every standard computer motherboard ever built.

Should be pretty easy to spot.

I don't see a 2032 in that photo, either.   :dunno

3 possibilities:
  1. It's under the metal riser on the left (a smaller form factor battery would be easier to hide this way)
  2. It's on the back of the MB
  3. There is an external battery pack with two wires leading to the MB

This megatouch maxx has it on the I/O board.
Different mobo and it sticks out like a sore thumb, but  :dunno
(and I don't see a key on the board either)
EDIT: upon reading the thread, what looks like a battery may have been the key)

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=115530.0

I've broken the arm on those battery holders before and ran leads to a battery.
Previous owner could have done the same and cleverly disguised it.

what u are seeing as a bat is indeed the key.
u have to remove the riser card to get to the bios bat
about that simple

I think you got it wrong.

The pic above is from Badmouth not from my game.

My mobo & i/o are completely different.

Like i said above i already removed the riser board.  There is no battery on the motherboard.

Links to my motherboard again :

If you see a battery there plz let me know where.

Simply desolder and solder, nothing too complex right ?

I was thinking these had the bit of code that had to be programmed or matched the mainboard.

If its socketed...that would be awesome.

If not...but a socket with the chip!
