Good communication, good prices, quick shipping, items as described.

I'm glad he came up on the net.  I have thought about using them.  Sometimes the boneyard has stuff you just can't get anywhere else.

I think people are upset that he burns cabs out in his back yard.

Yeah, there are a lot of folks who don't like his methods and how much he flaunts destroying games.  He would get a lot more business if he weren't so gleeful about how he gets his parts.

That is probably true.  I would also not buy fried chicken from a store that displays pictures of chickens hanging from killing cones in the front window.

Then you're missing out.  Best butcher shops in the world always have their wares on display in the window.  It there isn't a dead something on display in the window I keep walking.

I guess the analogy is closer to having a video playing of the guy gleefully killing the animals with blood spatters and maniacal laughter?

To be fair, his methods are spelled out right in the name.   >:D

It's hard to tell a beloved piece of history "you're worth more to me dead than alive" and perhaps his overt pyromania is a way of coping with the guilt; I'm sure he loves arcade as much or more than any of us, but when you've got a hundred machines and your storage barn is full, it has to be done.

Seeing his restoration page might make you feel slightly better...  Maybe.

Also his salvageable cabinets are priced very reasonably.

Groovy modular trackball.

The tone of my addition was meant to be positive and in support of the boneyard. I think if people peruse his site beyond the flaming plywood, they will see him as a brother in arcadia. They might also discover the least expensive, new cocktail glass clips in the business.

Awesome idea for CP art. It would look great next to Konkey Dong.

I placed my first order with Arcade Boneyard, having discovered him through this thread.

Consider this another positive review. Rob was friendly to do business with. Ordered Sunday. Arrived Wednesday. Well-packed.

Best price I could find on a new single coin door, with mech holder, mech, and coin detect switch. $55.60. (+16 postage.)

I'm wondering if I should contact the Boneyard about some coin door parts I'm looking for. Anyone deal with him this month?

Another +1 for the Arcade Boneyard.  I've made probably 4 separate purchases from him over the past year, (both new and old parts), and every one has been a positive transaction.  Good and prompt communication, he ships stuff out fast, has a good and unique inventory, and the prices are great.  Will give you a quote including shipping price before any transaction is made.

If we ordered more from him, he'd have more room, and wouldn't burn so many cabinets?

Wishful thinking maybe?

Where is he located?

Yeah same here. I'm thinking about flying to Orlando (they are somewhere around there) with my wife, visting her parents who live there, rent a one way SUV and drive my new empty Punch-Out cab back to Ohio. Not sure if that will happen though.

Despite them having to burn cabinets to get rid of them I rather like the boneyard. The way I look at it is kind of a more humane version of a pound. Sometimes if the empty cabs don't get sold they are put to rest. The good thing here is there is no life within those bodies that are being put down. No one wants to see a dog or a cat put down because of the neglect or inability for a person to care for the animal anymore... The same goes for cabs. Any true arcade aficionado, wants to save all the cab so that it may be fixed up and be in someone's life forever.

The sad part of this story is it just cannot happen. Someone will buy a cab and realize they bit off more than they can chew and they leave the thing to rot away in a damp basement, and realize they need to finally give it up to see if someone else can care for it. When that cab is not adopted (before or after it's gutted) it's sent to the burn heap.
